Everything We Know About Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’
Image
As casting announcements continue to roll in, speculation and excitement has only grown surrounding Christopher Nolan’s follow-up to his critical and box office hit “Oppenheimer,” which won him the Academy Award for best director.

“The Odyssey” is a classic piece of literature by Homer that is divided between 24 different books, preceded by “The Iliad.” It tells the 10-year journey story of Odysseus, king of Ithaca, as he travels home after the Trojan War. Along the way, he encounters multiple perils and discovers the death of his crewmates. Telemachus (Odysseus’ son), Penelope (Odysseus’ wife), Athena, Circe, Poseidon and Zeus are all major characters.

Historians and scholars date “The Odyssey” to sometime between 750-650 BC. The first printed Greek version became available in 1488. In the centuries since, it has remained one of the most studied, adapted and parodied stories ever with adaptations including the 1911 silent film by Giuseppe de Liguoro, 1954’s...

Neuchatel Prescribes a Genre Cure With Health-Themed ‘Take Care’ Retrospective
Image
The Neuchâtel Intl. Fantastic Film Festival (Nifff) is never afraid to ask questions.

As per tradition, the Swiss genre showcase will frame its annual retrospective through a sociological lens, this year turning its focus to health with a 20-film deep dive cheekily titled Take Care.

“I was struck by an idiom that’s more common in English than in French,” says Nifff artistic director Pierre-Yves Walder. “Telling someone to ‘take care’ can be taken as an order or a veiled threat. At the very least, it feels like an oxymoron, especially when the person being told to do so has little control over their situation. And as always, fantastic cinema provides the perfect space to explore these tension and contradictions between fragility, control, vulnerability and power. That’s where genre thrives!”

Covering a full century of cinematic malady — exploring how we care for others and ourselves and all the...

Mia Goth Teases Epic Scale And Heart In Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein Adaptation
Image
While on the red carpet for Netflix's Tudum 2025 event, Et caught up with actress Mia Goth to discuss her role as Elizabeth Lavenza in Guillermo del Toro's highly anticipated film adaptation of Mary Shelley's classic novel, Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus.

In the film, Goth's character, Elizabeth Lavenza, is the fiancée of Victor Frankenstein, played by Oscar Isaac.

When asked if audiences would find del Toro's take on the timeless story surprising or familiar, Goth confidently stated, "I think both." She elaborated, "I think people are going to love how epic it is, and the scale of it, it's such a feast. But I think they will also be incredibly moved by it and maybe surprised by how much heart went into this. It's a lifelong project for Guillermo."

Goth also shared her awe-struck reaction to seeing Jacob Elordi's portrayal of the iconic Monster in costume for the first time.

'Star Wars: Starfighter' Cast Expands With an "X-ceptional" Horror Icon
Image
Goth, meet Hoth. Scream queen Mia Goth is the latest addition to Shawn Levy's mysterious new Star Wars movie, Starfighter. She'll star alongside Ryan Gosling, who is playing the film's lead. Variety reports that Goth's role is being kept under wraps for now.

Previously, the role had reportedly been offered to reigning Best Actress Oscar-winner Mikey Madison, who turned it down. The space opera role will be one of the highest-profile roles for Goth to date. Her current resume is notably horror-heavy, with roles in Suspiria, A Cure for Wellness, Infinity Pool, and all three films of Ti West's X Trilogy. Later this year, she's set to star in Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein, and has also landed a role in Christopher Nolan's star-studded adaptation of The Odyssey. This will be Goth's first venture into big-budget studio franchise filmmaking, although she is also slated to star in the McU's Bladereboot,...

Novocaine's Jack Quaid Reveals That Starring In A Bioshock Movie Is His Dream Role
Image
Actor Jack Quaid was recently asked what his ideal role would be while participating in a Reddit Ama t to promote his newly released action-comedy flick, Novocaine.

Interestingly enough, Quad revealed that he wants to star in a BioShock movie, as that's his favorite game. Perhaps the timing of this reveal is not so coincidental as Netflix is currently working on just that.

"I would actually love to be in a live action adaptation of Bioshock - one of my favorite games of all time. I think there's such a rich lore to that game that could be explored in a TV or movie adaptation."

"I've seen people say that I look like Max Payne, and when I've looked at the box art, even I did a double-take. I love Rockstar's games, but unfortunately I've never played that one - it's next on the list, for sure."

Just a few years ago,...

Valerian Cast & Character Guide: Where You've Seen The Actors Before
Image
Content Warning: The following article contains mention of rape.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets may not be the most well-known movie, but the Valerian cast is certainly stacked with A-list talent. Based on the French science fiction comic series Valérian and Laureline and released in 2017, the movie takes place in the 28th century and centers on two operatives, Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are tasked with traveling to the peaceful Alpha, the City of a Thousand Planets, to complete a mission. However, when an unknown force threatens the future of the entire universe, Valerian and Laureline must race against time to stop them.

Valerian had a hefty budget of over $177 million (via Box Office Mojo) and has the distinction of being both the most expensive independent movie and European movie ever made. Unfortunately, Valerian failed to make a splash at the box office, grossing just over $225 million worldwide,...

Quick Links What is A Cure for Wellness About? A Cure for Wellness Handles Difficult Themes Gracefully Critics Were Wrong About A Cure for Wellness

Every year since the 2010s has been a banner year for cinema, but one year in particular stands out. Not even Covid-19, actors strikes, and writers strikes can slow down the endless stream of genius from Hollywood and beyond. While every year has gems of its own, 2016 is far and away ahead of all the competition. From Academy Award contenders like La La Land, Moonlight, and Arrival, all the way to hidden gems like Operation Avalanche, The Lost City of Z, and Café Society. Nestled in the middle of the hidden gems and contenders, however, is a critically maligned film that got plenty of attention but not the right kind.

'Sherlock Holmes 3' Star Jude Law Confirms There is a New Script
Image
Jude Law has given fans an encouraging, albeit minor, update on the status of Sherlock Holmes 3. Riding the wave of Robert Downey Jr.'s comeback from Iron Man and Tropic Thunder, Sherlock Holmes was a box office hit in 2009, grossing $524 million worldwide and redefining the character for the modern audience. Plans for a Sherlock Holmes 3 have been discussed over and over for over a decade now.

Law, who played Holmes's trusty companion, John Watson, in both films, has finally provided a small update on the third film. While speaking with The Playlist, Law said a new draft of a script for Sherlock Holmes 3 has been completed, but he has not read it yet.

Venom: The Last Dance star Juno Temple is offering up some interesting details about her new film with legendary director Gore Verbinski. While promoting the final installment of the Venom franchise, in which she reprises her role as Dr. Payne, Temple dished on her upcoming film with Verbinski. The Oscar-winning director is set to make his long-awaited return to the big screen with Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die, his first film in eight years.

Known for 2002's The Ring, Disney's first three Pirates of the Caribbean films, and Rango, Verbinski has a singular style and method of filmmaking. The auteur reportedly plans out projects but then allows the film to evolve on set, increasing the potential for creativity and delightful accidents. Mia Goth's Underrated Horror Movie From 8 Years Ago Is A Subtle Tribute To Universal Classic Monsters
Image
Mia Goth has established herself as one of modern cinema's "Scream Queens." Having starred in acclaimed horror films like Infinity Pool, 2018's Suspiria, and director Ti West's X trilogy (which ended with the 2024 film MaXXXine), Goth now guarantees an audience in whatever film she appears. However, A Cure for Wellness, in which Mia had a leading role, hasn't gotten the recognition it deserves since it premiered in 2016.

Directed by Gore Verbinski, A Cure for Wellness follows Dane DeHaan's Lockhart as he tries to bring his boss back from a wellness center in the Swiss Alps, where he uncovers a dark conspiracy revolving around Goth's mysterious character, Hannah. It's an unnerving blend of Gothic mystery and psychological horror, and the talent behind the film and its tribute to classic horror, particularly Universal's monster movies, make it a must-see for committed horror fans.

Divisive Mia Goth Movie That Wraps Up A Great Modern Horror Trilogy Is Now Streaming
Image
Max recently added the Mia Goth horror movie, MaXXXine, to their catalog, and it is definitely worth checking out, despite its mixed reviews. MaXXXine was released in July 2024 to a notable amount of fanfare, as it is the final installment in Ti West's X trilogy. The movie centers on Maxine Minx, an adult film star who finally gets her big break after auditioning for a burgeoning horror franchise. However, Maxine's claim to fame hits a roadblock when her past, as showcased in 2022's X, comes back to haunt her. Ultimately, it is a gory homage to 1980s horror.

One of the biggest strengths of MaXXXine is its lead actress, Mia Goth. Throughout the late 2010s and early 2020s, Goth has become a standout in the horror genre, taking on roles in notable scary movies such as Suspiria, A Cure for Wellness, and Infinity Pool. With her expressive eyes and unique voice,...

Anya Taylor-Joy took over the high-octane, adrenaline-fueled world of Mad Max with this year’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, but its her work in the terrifying world of horror that gets her on this list. Starting with Robert Eggers The Witch, the talented young actress went on to showcase her skillset in the genre through a wide range of films while working with some of the most talented filmmakers in the business. Jason Isaacs Star Trek: Discovery Villain Lorca Explained
Image
English actor Jason Isaacs played Captain Gabriel Lorca in Star Trek: Discovery season 1. In a departure from Star Trek's typical format of having the hero starship's captain as the show's main character, Lorca was a foil to protagonist Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green), and eventually revealed to be Star Trek: Discovery's season 1 villain. The original Captain of the USS Discovery, Lorca was a fugitive from Star Trek's Mirror Universe who plotted a coup against Emperor Philippa Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh) before becoming conveniently stranded in the Prime Universe and adopting his Prime counterpart's identity.

Captain Lorca's true motives were a part of Star Trek: Discovery's season 1 mystery. Lorca was more concerned with victory than exploration and lacked the warmth that made many other Star Trek captains so successful. Being in the thick of the Klingon-Federation War meant Lorca's authoritarian command style and casual indifference to violence avoided triggering too much suspicion.

“Come stay for a spell, or stay forever, we’re welcoming all the same…” — SÉANCE In The Asylum Q&a with Clay McLeod Chapman

The rise of spirtualism, mediums, and séances in the 1800s is an endlessly fascinating topic, especially when you consider that, for all of the people that were committing fraud, what if some of them were really contacting the dead? Having read the first issue of Séance in the Asylum, I am very excited to read more, and I was just as thrilled to catch up with Clay McLeod Chapman to talk all about the new series.

The mid-late 1800s are such a fascinating time when it comes to mysticism and the occult. What inspired the idea behind Séance in the Asylum?

I had two guiding lights for Séance in the Asylum. First, I’ve always been a fan of the Fox Sisters. I’m dying to write something for them, about them, some day. I had a feature in development for years and it just fizzled… but I’ve been...

Marvel's Thunderbolts Trailer Has A Frustrating Feature That Is Annoying Fans
Image
Marvel Studios' upcoming superhero flick "Thunderbolts*" is slated to be the 36th feature film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will assemble six ancillary characters culled from previous MCU movies and TV shows, making them into a ragtag fighting force. On the team are the Red Guardian, Yelena Belova, and Taskmaster from "Black Widow," the Winter Soldier and U.S. Agent (Sebastian Stan and Wyatt Russell) from "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," and Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) from "Ant-Man and the Wasp." These characters previously served as low-level villains or antagonists, but are now redeeming themselves as hunted antiheroes.

The first full trailer for "Thunderbolts*" was released on September 23, 2024, and it displays the requisite action that the genre demands, as well as the notable character reveals that the MCU is known for. 10 Horror Flops From The 2010s That Are Worth A Second Watch
Image
Some horror movies take time to find their audience, like Annihilation and The Lords of Salem, that deserve a rewatch. Gems like Knock Knock and Under the Skin were misunderstood upon release but are now gaining appreciation for their unique takes. Films like A Cure for Wellness and Doctor Sleep were critically acclaimed but faced challenges translating that into box office success.

Sometimes it takes a couple of years for a film to find its audience, and in the past decade, this was the case for several horror movies that have proven more than worth another watch. The horror genre has long been considered a proving ground for young up-and-comers, so its a crowded chock-full of talent, and some of those bold visions haven't always immediately landed.

The 2010s were a decade so rich with horror movies, from slasher movies to the rise of psychological horror movies in the 2010s,...

A Cure For Wellness' Ending Explained

Lockhart discovers Dr. Volmer's dark secrets, involving immortality and sinister experiments, at the Swiss Alps wellness spa. The eels in A Cure for Wellness are more than creatures - they play a key role in extending life and the dark practices at the spa. A Cure for Wellness' ending explained how an evil scientist manipulated his town and own family for years before finally being brought down. Directed by Gore Verbinski (The Ring), A Cure for Wellness is a story about a Wall Street upstart named Lockhart (Dane DeHaan) who is sent to retrieve his missing boss from an isolated health spa (The Volmer Institute) in the Swiss Alps, only to find himself injured and confined to the increasingly-sinister "wellness center" himself as a patient.

Mia Goth Earned Her Scream-Queen Crown With the 'Suspiria' Remake
Image
Mia Goth is a household name among horror fanatics, with films like X, Pearl, Infinity Pool, and Maxxxine propelling her to Scream Queen status. Prior to the X series, Goth had already dipped her toes into horror-adjacent cinema in films like High Life alongside Robert Pattinson and A Cure for Wellness with Dane DeHaan. But in Luca Guadagnino's 2018 version of Dario Argentos Suspiria, Goth proved herself worthy of her horror crown. Guadagninos version of the 1977 classic highlights a contrast between young and old, good and evil, beautiful and hideous, and truth and lie. Goth embodies these contrasts wholeheartedly and shines alongside A-list talents like Tilda Swinton and Dakota Johnson. Suspiria proved Goths acting skills were a good match with horror, and she wholeheartedly deserves the praise she's resceived for her genre work.

Mia previously starred in, wrote, and executive produced Pearl, a prequel to X that earned her two Critics Choice Awards. She will soon wrap production for Frankenstein, directed by Guillermo del Toro, an adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic novel, co-starring Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi,...

10 Best Modern Scream Queens In Horror Movies
Image
Modern scream queens redefine horror with nuanced performances, challenging exploitative past roles. Female-led horror films tackle complex issues, elevating genre with social and political commentary. Rising scream queens like Ortega, Taylor-Joy, and Monroe showcase versatility in horror and beyond.

It's difficult to define what gives a horror movie scream queen her title, but many great modern stars fit the bill. They earn the name of scream queen easily with their remarkable performances. Slightly different from the final girl, an archetype within the horror genre, scream queens are actresses who become best-known for their contribution to thrilling and chilling flicks, often with surprising depth and nuance. While the name comes from the act of screaming, an action that horror movies are full of, contemporary scream queens are highlighted for their acting ability, not just for their shrieks.

For many years, the roles women were cast in within the horror genre were exploitative and one-dimensional,...

Sex, Violence, and Videotape: Ti West and Mia Goth on Their Game-Changing Slasher Trilogy
Image
Once upon a time in 1970s Texas, a group of filmmakers traveled to a remote farmhouse to shoot what they hoped would be the Citizen Kane of porno flicks. Only one of them would leave that quaint rural residence alive. Cut to: that same “Final Girl” close to a decade later, when she has not only endured another round of related homicides but has been christened Hollywood’s Next Big Thing. Sandwiched in between this fairy tale’s beginning and ending is the story of another woman who also yearns for fame,...

'I See Myself as Just an Actor': Mia Goth Addresses Scream Queen Label
Image
Despite not fully understanding the term "Scream Queen," Mia Goth expresses her gratitude for the love and support she has received from the horror community. Goth stars in the newly released slasher film MaXXXine.

In an interview with the Collider, the actress opened up about embracing her horror genre fans. I dont really know what a Scream Queen means. I never really use that term for other actresses. Ive definitely heard it a lot in passing, and I know that sometimes they describe me like that. I guess it just means an actress thats working in the horror genre. Its tricky. I dont really know how to talk about that because, on one hand, I feel so embraced by the horror community and the genre community in general, and its something that I really welcome, and Im really grateful for, that X and Pearl and MaXXXine, in particular, have resonated...

Mia Goths Best Performance Isnt in a Horror Movie
Image
Given how radically the horror genre has changed in the 21st century, it's surprising that there hasnt been a modern scream queen who has given classic stars like Jamie Lee Curtis, Neve Campbell, or Heather Langenkamp a run for their money. The genre may be heading in a different direction, but Mia Goth has certainly become an icon within some of the wildest projects in recent history. Between the trippy space opera High Life, the disturbing psychological thriller A Cure For Wellness, the absurdist satire Infinity Pool, and her prominent role in Ti Wests X and Pearl, Goth has mastered all of horrors most idiosyncratic subgenres. Goths association with spooky material makes it all the more surprising that she had a prominent role in the Jane Austen adaptation Emma.

‘MaXXXine’ Star Mia Goth on Toplining Ti West’s Slasher Trilogy: “It Changed Me Forever”
Image
Much has been made about how filmmaker Ti West has reinvented and refreshed the slasher genre by paying homage to the classics in his A24 trilogy X, Pearl and the upcoming MaXXXine. His leading lady, Mia Goth, agrees with the praise and adds that the back-to-back-to-back gigs have also reshaped something else — her career.

“The work has given me a whole new level of confidence that I hadn’t had before,” the 30-year-old actress told The Hollywood Reporter while standing outside the Tcl Chinese Theatre minutes before the June 24 world premiere. “It changed me forever.”

Specifically, Goth points to playing the title character Pearl in the technicolor gore-fest that served as the prequel to 2022’s X and was released the same year. X found Goth playing Maxine, a young porn actress who in 1979 accompanies pals from the adult film industry to a remote Texas farmhouse, where an elderly couple is revealed to be savage hosts.

Image
Mia Goth praises her experience playing fearless characters in Ti West's X horror trilogy. She hopes to move beyond the horror genre, expressing a love for romantic films. West praises Goth's ability to connect with the material and play multiple roles in the trilogy.

Mia Goth, the movie star who saw her career in horror take off after her performance in Ti West's slasher film X and its sequel, Pearl, has addressed her participation in the X film series. Goth is a young actor who has always been associated with horror, and more so in recent years as she became an essential part of West's trilogy. Pearl, the second film in the franchise and the prequel that served as the origin story for her "old lady" character, was co-written by Goth and West.

Her performance in the film was so good that it brought back to the table the conversation about Oscar-worthy horror performances.

Agartha In Joko Anwar’s ‘Nightmares And Daydreams’ Explained: How Are The Episodes Connected?
Image
Created by Joko Anwar, the Netflix’s anthology series, Nightmares and Daydreams, is made of seven seemingly disconnected episodes. But with each passing story, it becomes clear that all of them are connected via the shenanigans emerging from the mythological realm of Agartha. As the legend goes, Agartha is a kingdom that exists somewhere between Earth’s surface and hell, I guess. I’m sure you are familiar with the concept of the hollow Earth theory that has been popularized by MonsterVerse. So, think of it that way. Agartha is a world between worlds and is apparently home to demi-gods, also known as “asuras.” This connecting thread doesn’t become all that apparent until the seventh and last episode. But since there are subtle and not-so-subtle hints to the existence of Agartha, and how its inhabitants influence the surface dwellers, bear with me as I go episode by episode to...

Joko Anwar’s ‘Nightmares And Daydreams’ Review: Netflix Anthology Series Uses Horror To Critique The Economy
Image
Netflix’s popularity can be attributed to many different movies and shows, but, in my opinion, their horror anthology series Black Mirror was integral to their overnight success because I can remember obsessing over its brutal satire like it was yesterday. Then, the streaming platform’s Indian branch made Lust Stories, and the idea of provocative storytelling featuring Bollywood stars felt promising. Love, Death, and Robots became everyone’s favorite almost instantly, with its vivid style and precise storytelling. And then things sort of went downhill with absolutely trashy products like Ghost Stories, Ludo, Paava Kadhaigal, Pitta Kathalu, Ankahi Kahaniya, Ajeeb Dastans, Feels Like Ishq, Ray, and Lust Stories 2. The only diamond in the rough was Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities. And it seems like Netflix has learned the right lesson from it and has brought another anthology series inspired by the works of an acclaimed director: Joko Anwar’s Nightmares and Daydreams.

Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die: Gore Verbinski’s action film starring Sam Rockwell, Michael Peña and Haley Lu Richardson starts filming in South Africa
Image
Gore Verbinski would seem to have hit a snag in his big-budget blockbuster career after his Lone Ranger movie for Disney became a notoriously bloated flop. However, he was able to return with a smaller directorial effort after that, with the suspense film A Cure for Wellness. It has been eight years since the release of A Cure for Wellness, and Verbinski returns from his hiatus to helm an action-adventure film with the humorous title Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die. The movie sports an impressive cast, including Sam Rockwell, Michael Peña, Haley Lu Richardson, Zazie Beetz and Juno Temple. The film has just started production on location in South Africa.

The description of the movie’s plot, according to Deadline, reads, “The film, written by Matthew Robinson (Love & Monsters), centers on a man from the future (Rockwell) who arrives at a diner in Los Angeles where he must recruit...

Gore Verbinski at an event for The 84th Annual Academy Awards (2012)
After eight years, Gore Verbinski’s back with a thriller called Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die. And it now has a cast, with Sam Rockwell, Michael Peña and Zazie Beetz among the large names.

It’s almost exactly eight years since director Gore Verbinski released a film – that being the 2016 horror, A Cure For Wellness. Now, though, the Pirates Of The Caribbean filmmaker appears to have gotten a new project together, with Deadline reporting that a cast has been announced for a genre mash-up called Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die.

Among the major names you’ll find Sam Rockwell (most recently seen in Argylle), Haley Lu Richardson, Juno Temple, Zazie Beetz and Michael Peña.

According to Deadline’s plot summary, the film’s about a “man from the future” – who’ll be played by Rockwell – whose mission is to assemble a group of “disgruntled patrons” (played...

Sam Rockwell, Zazie Beetz, Juno Temple & More Join Gore Verbinski’s Sci-Fi Film ‘Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die’
Image
After directing the first three “Pirates of the Caribbean” films (2003–2007) and the animated movie “Rango” (2011), which won the Academy Award and BAFTA for Best Animated Film, things have been relatively quiet for director Gore Verbinski. “The Lone Ranger” was an expensive disappointment at the box office, and the back-to-basic “A Cure for Wellness” was well-respected but kind of came and went.

Gore Verbinski, Ridley Scott, Mélanie Laurent & More Set Next Films
Image
It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly a decade since the last film from Gore Verbinski, 2016’s A Cure for Wellness, but after being attached to a handful of projects, the director is finally looking to return. Sam Rockwell, Haley Lu Richardson, Michael Peña, Zazie Beetz, and Juno Temple are attached to star in his next feature Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die, Deadline reports.

Scripted by Matthew Robinson (Love & Monsters), the action-adventure film follows “a ‘man from the future’ (Rockwell) who arrives at a diner in Los Angeles where he must recruit the precise combination of disgruntled patrons to join him on a one-night-six-block quest to save the world from the terminal threat of a rogue artificial intelligence.” With production set to kick off this year in Cape Town, South Africa, expect a 2024 release.

With production wrapping on Gladiator 2 ahead of a release this November,...

Special Effects Artist Solon Luigi Colani Leaves Mark on Major Movies, Including Berlinale Pic ‘Dying’
Image
An unsung master of movie magic, Solon Luigi Colani has worked on some of the biggest Hollywood movies ever shot in Germany and beyond, among them works by Quentin Tarantino, Ron Howard, George Clooney, Denis Villeneuve, Paul W.S. Anderson, Gore Verbinski and the Wachowskis.

His enormous range of practical visual effects have also become regular fixtures in Germany’s domestic film and TV industry, where he has helped filmmakers and showrunners bring their visions to life.

In Matthias Glasner’s current Berlinale Competition screener “Dying,” for example, he created a pneumatic pump, hose system and the necessary chunky liquid for a dramatic scene in which a character falls ill at the Berlin Philharmonic concert hall.

Colani established his Berlin-based company Pyro Labs in the 1990s as a side business while working as a young It specialist. Initially focused on firework displays for weddings, birthday parties and other live events, the...

Sam Rockwell, Haley Lu Richardson, Juno Temple & more to star in new Gore Verbinski movie
Image
Believe it or not, but it’s been nearly eight years since the release of Gore Verbinski’s last movie — the underrated A Cure for Wellness — but the director finally has a new project in the works. Deadline reports that Verbinski has assembled a fantastic ensemble of actors for his action-adventure movie titled Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die.

Sam Rockwell, one of my all-time favourite actors, will be leading the cast, which includes Haley Lu Richardson (The White Lotus), Juno Temple (Fargo), Michael Peña (Ant-Man and the Wasp), and Zazie Beetz (Joker). Rockwell will star as a “man from the future” who arrives at a Los Angeles diner to recruit a “precise combination of disgruntled patrons to join him on a one-night-six-block quest to save the world from the terminal threat of a rogue artificial intelligence.“
