Watching Barbara Sabich in Apple TV’s Presumed Innocent is like watching a punching bag make its way through an infinite circle of BattleBots.
After the release of Presumed Innocent, most of the talk covers the various aspects of Jake Gyllenhaal’s portrayal of Rusty Sabich, mainly in a bad light.

“Presumed Innocent” is misleading. Sure, that’s the nexus around which a fair justice system in a free country revolves, but Rusty is anything but.
His actions catalyze everything, bringing me back to Presumed Innocent’s worst, immersion-breaking character: Barbara Sabich.

“For him, early onset Parkinson’s disease started out with relatively mild tremors and then over time progressed toward less and less bodily autonomy — something particularly torturous for a fiercely independent artist like my dad whose joy in life was to create things with his hands,” she wrote on Facebook.
“While the disease itself is not technically considered terminal, it does eventually remove crucial functions like movement and swallowing — functions essential for life. To say the last few months,...

Last year, the surprising news came our way that Discovery was going to purchase WarnerMedia from AT&T for a gigantic sum of $43 billion. This was, rather amazingly, just a few years after AT&T fought tooth and nail to get approval to buy Warner in the first place, resulting in a gigantic new media company; part telecom, part media business. Now, AT&T is getting out of the media business, spinning off that portion of the company, with Discovery, the media company behind "90 Day Fiance" and "Battlebots," looking to become a giant player. And to do that, they are raising a ridiculous $30...

The Speechless star has been tapped to star in The Lesser Dead, a supernatural audio drama series.
Christopher Buehlman is adapting his own novel – about a colony of vampires – for the audio medium.

The week of March 9 — when the coronavirus was officially declared a pandemic, and Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson shared the news that they had tested positive for Covid-19 — a cascade of television shows and movies shut their productions down for safety reasons. From “Stranger Things” to “The Batman,” these shutterings are temporary, and sets will be up and running as soon as it’s safe to go back into production — though no one knows when that might be. The broadcast networks, unable to shoot any pilots for the 2020-21 TV season, are in uncharted territory. And unless the coronavirus curve flattens soon, the broadcasters, which schedule hours and hours of reality television in the summer, will have to rely almost entirely on repeats.
