A selection at Venice Film Festival and Sundance Film Festival, Emanuele Crialese’s 1970s-set, Penélope Cruz-starring drama L’immensità opened in theaters earlier this summer from Music Box Films. Now, with the film arriving digitally today, we’re pleased to exclusively debut an alternate poster inspired by Federico Fellini classic. Designed by Greenlight Creative, here’s their statement about the new poster: “The La Dolce Vita-inspired poster for L’immensità evolved out of the original design explorations for the film’s theatrical poster. We were looking to find a design style that would place the film in a vibrant mid-century or ’70s period setting, communicate a bittersweet, nostalgic tone, and provide a star platform for Penélope Cruz.

Great American Community, the free direct-to-consumer app from Great American Media, has set its slate for next month’s launch with 15 original shortform series featuring well-known TV hosts, presenters and actors. The app debuts Monday, September 26, with multiple episodes of all series available on day one and new episodes premiering on regularly scheduled days throughout the year.

Series headliners include Danica McKellar, Cameron Mathison, Jill Wagner, Trevor Donovan, Debbie Matenopoulos, Lauren Makk, Kym Douglas, Larissa Wohl, Emily Hutchinson, Lawrence Zarian, Shirley Bovshow, Maria Provenzano, Jamie Tarence, Mahaila McKellar, and Lizzy Mathis. The deal covers film and television projects through Mockingbird Pictures banner.

Skydance has entered into a multi-year overall deal for feature films and television with producers Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn of Mockingbird Pictures.

The company has several projects in development with Curtis (pictured) and Lynn, including the upcoming AMC television series Dietland.

Curtis and Lynn first partnered at Mockingbird Pictures after producing Albert Nobbs in 2012. The pair have produced seven films together, including Arie Posin’s The Face Of Love, Victor Levin’s 5 To 7, and Rodrigo Garcia’s Last Days In The Desert.

This year the duo has released Life, The Sweet Life, and Wakefield. Next on their slate is Marti Noxon’s To The Bone, which will premiere on Netflix in July.

Lionsgate has released the trailer for its upcoming “Black Butterfly,” starring Antonio Banderas, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Piper Perabo. The thriller is the remake of the acclaimed made-for-tv French film “Papillon Noir,” written by Hervé Korian. It marks the second directorial effort for actor Brian Goodman, who previously helmed the 2008 crime drama “What Doesn’t Kill You.”

Natalie Portman skipped the Oscars this year because she had given birth to her second child just days before, and for anyone wondering what Portman was up to prior to that, you now have your answer: Shooting a music video for James Blake.

The English musician has premiered the gorgeous black-and-white music video for his song “My Willing Heart,” and it puts a very pregnant Portman front and center as she connects with her unborn child in various locations, including a softly-lit bedroom and a giant pool. UK sales outfit WestEnd Films has acquired international rights to American comedy-drama The Sweet Life, and will be showing the film to buyers at the forthcoming European Film Market in Berlin.

Directed by TV veteran Rob Spera (Criminal Minds), the film stars Chris Messina (Live By Night, Argo) and Abigail Spencer (Oz The Great And Powerful, Suits) in the story of two lost souls who embark on a road trip from Chicago to San Franscisco where they plan to jump off the Golden Gate Bridge together.

The film premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival last June.

Sweet Life was produced by Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn under their banner Mockingbird Pictures, the company behind Oscar-nominated Glenn Close drama Albert Nobbs.

Producers Julie Lynn and Bonnie Curtis will produce the 7th Annual Governors Awards for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs announced today.

The Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award will be presented to Debbie Reynolds, and Honorary Awards will be presented to Spike Lee and Gena Rowlands, on Saturday, November 14, at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center.

“Julie and Bonnie are incredibly talented producers – the perfect team to help us celebrate the accomplishments of our honorees,” said Boone Isaacs.
