This is a reboot of the hugely popular Winnetou/Old Shatterhand series of 7 films from 1962 to 1968, starring Lex Barker as Old Shatterhand and Pierre Brice as Winnetou.
Filming began in August 2015 and was shot on locations in Croatia, where the Karl May films of the 1960s starring Pierre Brice and Lex Barker were made.
Nik Xhelilaj and Wotan Wilke Möhring were in front of the camera together for Steig nicht aus.
