Titles include supernatural horror ’The Axiom’.

UK genre sales outfit Devilworks has inked deals on six titles from its Efm slate.

Nicholas Woods supernatural horror The Axiom has sold to Spain (Tema Distribuciones); Germany, Austria and Switzerland (Lighthouse Entertainment); Taiwan (MovieCloud); Southeast Asia (Antenna Entertainment); and Korea (Doki Entertainment). The film was released in the Us on February 12 through Vertical Entertainment.

The month of March is closing out with a busy week of home entertainment releases, with two of the highlights this week being Scream Factory's stunning Steelbook editions for Assault on Precinct 13 and Prince of Darkness. Scream Factory is also keeping busy with their Collector’s Edition release of Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon and their Blu-ray release of IFC Midnight's I Remember You.

David Cronenberg’s Scanners is also making its way into the Criterion Collection this week, and The City of the Dead is the recipient of another limited edition release as well. Other notable titles coming home on March 27th include The Robot Chicken Walking Dead Special, The Outer Limits Season 1, Hell’s Kitty, Star Time, The Executioners, Mercy Christmas, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Genre boutique sales outfit Devilworks unwraps a gift this festive season with fun horror comedy Mercy Christmas. Directed and co-written by Ryan Nelson, Mercy Christmas tells the story of Michael Briskett, an overworked loner who meets a beautiful new co-worker. Michael’s ideal Christmas dream comes true when she invites him to her family’s holiday celebration. His dream shatters and Michael struggles to survive once he realizes that He will be Christmas dinner.

Devilworks will be presenting Mercy Christmas to International buyers at the European Film Market (Feb 15-23 2018). Gravitas Ventures has released the film in North America, where it is available now across numerous VOD platforms including, but not limited to: iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Play Station Movies and DirectTV.

Michael Briskett (Steven Hubbell) awakens in a dark room with plastic sheets covered in blood hung behind him. It’s imagery you’ve seen countless times in horror films—butcher accoutrement readied for torture porn carnage. But writer/director Ryan Nelson (alongside Beth Levy Nelson as co-writer) is only giving us a tease of what’s to come before rewinding two days to show the unfortunate circumstances that led poor Michael to an unknown basement decorated for Christmas. First we have to meet his douchebag boss Andy Robillard (Cole Gleason) as he assigns an impossible task during the holiday season. Then it’s the office’s latest hire Cindy (Casey O’Keefe), too perky and idealistic for the soul-crushing grind cubicle life provides. Visiting your better half's family during the holidays for the first time can be stressful in itself, but it becomes a literal fight for survival for poor Michael when he discovers that he's on the menu for Christmas dinner in the new holiday horror film Mercy Christmas. Directed by Ryan Nelson, Mercy Christmas will be opening this year's Shriekfest film festival in Los Angeles, and we've been provided with an exclusive poster to share with Daily Dead readers.
