This film started shooting on Halloween Day which caused most of the crew to not show up in favor of attending parties. Subsequently, the director shot and directed the film, himself.
This film features the first scene in history wherein two African-American women discuss super heroes and comic books.
No characters used profanity in this film. Originally there was one foul word, but the director replaced it with, "freakin."
The film is adapted from a stage play which starred the same actress in the leading role. However, in the play, the main character had trouble with her mother and not her father, as in the film.
The author, D.W. Leonard, published a book, produced a stage play and shot this film in the space of about a year.
