The Golden Globes are the first big event of the 2025 awards season, giving out awards to the best films and TV shows of 2024, though the ceremony has always been much less of a draw than many of the other awards shows. While the most important aspect of the ceremony is, of course, which film and TV projects will take home the most awards, another very important part of the ceremony is the host, and how they will shape how the show goes throughout the night.
The question of the continued importance of the Golden Globes when the Oscars are so dominant in the awards season remains, but they are still leading the charge as the first event that defines how the next few months of ceremonies may go. With the 2025 Oscar nominees not even announced yet, everyone is looking to this event to see how the films of the year are generally perceived by voters,...

Nikki Glaser stopped drinking four years ago, which she says made sex almost “impossible” for her. The host of Comedy Central’s new show about sex, “Not Safe With Nikki Glaser,” used to need to drink to overcome the awkwardness of sleeping with someone. Alcohol and sex have an uncomfortable, sometimes ugly, relationship. College campuses, where both sex and drinking are new to many students, are hosting long-overdue conversations about blurred lines. Students are asking questions about consent means, and when someone is too drunk to truly give it. “I think both people need to be audibly consenting,” Glaser told TheWrap last week.

Comedy Central’s winning streak continues with “Not Safe With Nikki Glaser.” The stand-up’s voice and point of view of a self-proclaimed “curious perv” are clear as a bell in this new show that’s all about sex, in its many shapes and forms, and our attitudes about sex.
