It’s the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness! Disney is in the works on a movie inspired by its Disneyland attraction Big Thunder Mountain, and “Hawkeye” directors Bert & Bertie — the professional name of the duo Amber Templemore-Finlayson and Katie Ellwood — are in negotiations to direct the film, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.
Kieran Mulroney and Michele Mulroney (“Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows”) are writing the script for the film, though plot details are being kept under wraps.
Margot Robbie’s production banner LuckyChap Entertainment and Ridley Scott’s banner Scott Free are both producing the film.

Back in 2005, Bert met Bertie. Bert was producing a series of short films to accompany Sony’s “The Getaway” video game series while Bertie served as the game’s writer. The two struck up an immediate kinship and found that together they were a “creative melting pot of ideas.”
Cut to 14 years later. The female duo — who call themselves “The Berts” — are headed to Park City, Utah, to unveil their sophomore effort “Troop Zero.” The Amazon film, written by “Beasts of the Southern Wild” scribe Lucy Alibar, follows a young spunky girl named Christmas Flint (Mc-
kenna Grace) who, after getting rejected from the high-and-mighty Birdie Scouts, decides to form her own scout troop.
The film, an outsider comedy full of girl power, attracted such grownup stars as Viola Davis and Allison Janney.

Adorable Johanna Colón, who rocketed to viral fame at age 6 on the heels of a comically exuberant dance performance back in 2015 that has clocked some 80 million YouTube views to date, is parlaying her moment in the sun into a full-fledged acting career.
Colón, who sassed her way through Aretha Franklin’s “Respect” at the tender age of six, has joined the Amazon Studios feature Troupe Zero -- starring Hollywood heavyweights like Viola Davis, Allison Janney, Jim Gaffigan, Mike Epps, and Mckenna Grace. While no details about the plot of the film have been released, per Deadline, Troupe Zero is being directed by Bert & Bertie (YouTube's Dance Camp) from a script by Lucy Alibar (Beasts Of The Southern Wild). Amazon Studios is set to produce a new film alongside Ridley Scott based on the sci-fi fantasy novel The Beast is an Animal. The story has an intriguing concept that could really make for an amazing movie.
The story centers around "a child who lives in a world fearful of soul eaters, twin sisters who were abandoned by their father and slowly grew into something not quite human. As she grows from a child to a teenager, she realizes that she has a gift that she must keep secret, for fear they will call her a witch."
Amazon is looking to hire the female directing team Bert & Bertie to helm the film and the adapt the film from Peternelle van Arsdale. They previously directed Dance Camp for YouTube Red in 2016 and they are also set to direct another film for Amazon called Troupe Zero.

YouTube Red has launched its first four original programs, and it will not slow down its output. The $10-per-month subscription service launched last October by YouTube is now home to films and web series led by digital stars Lilly Singh, Rooster Teeth, Meg DeAngelis, and PewDiePie. It has also announced its upcoming slate of original programs, which includes newly-revealed shows from Gigi Gorgeous and AwesomenessTV.
The program included in YouTube Red’s initial lineup are A Trip To Unicorn Island, a documentary that follows Lilly “iiSuperwomanii” Singh during a recent tour; Lazer Team, a film from Rooster Teeth that was funded via Indiegogo; Dance Camp, an AwesomenessTV production starring Meg DeAngelis; and Scare PewDiePie, a series that puts the world’s most popular YouTube star into real-life horror scenarios. Viewers with YouTube Red subscriptions will be the first ones to experience these shows, but some of them will ultimately run on other platforms.
