Did You Know Barry Keoghan Once Asked Stan Lee To Make Him A Superhero? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Barry Keoghan’s journey from a fan to a Marvel superhero is a remarkable example of manifestation. He once expressed his desire to join the Marvel universe, and years later, that dream became a reality.
Back in 2013, before Hollywood knew his name, Keoghan took his shot. He tweeted at the legendary Stan Lee, hoping to land a superhero gig. No response. No acknowledgment. Just a young actor manifesting his dream. Fast forward a decade, and boom—he’s in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If that’s not the definition of speaking things into existence, what is?
Keoghan plays Druig in Eternals, a film introducing a fresh batch of heroes and some serious cosmic drama. But what makes this even better? His journey from a hopeful tweet to standing among Hollywood’s biggest stars in a Marvel movie.

A few months ago news broke that Nolan’s mysterious upcoming project is an adaptation of ‘The Odyssey.’ Universal Pictures announced that Christopher Nolan’s next movie is a global action epic based on Homer’s ‘The Odyssey.’ It will use new IMAX technology and hit theaters on July 17, 2026.
The movie already has a star-studded cast, including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, and Charlize Theron. Production is expected to begin in early 2025, with Nolan writing and producing alongside Emma Thomas under their Syncopy banner.
Homer’s ‘The Odyssey’ is one of the oldest stories still read today. It tells the tale of the Greek hero Odysseus and his challenging journey home after the Trojan War.

In terms of modern filmmaking, it's hard to do better than Christopher Nolan. Even dating back to his early works such as "The Prestige" and "Memento," it was clear that this man was something special. Everyone is going to have their favorites and yes, to an extent, film is a subjective medium. That said, Nolan's broad critical acclaim coupled with his ability to deliver a commercial hit makes him unrivaled in the 2000s. Rather quantifiably, he has proven himself to be the most consistently bankable director working in Hollywood today, and one pretty eye-popping stat proves it.
Nolan had a run from 2008 to 2017 that was, in a word, ridiculous. That run includes the $1 billion beloved blockbuster smash "The Dark Knight," his mind-bending thriller "Inception," DC's one-time highest-grossing movie ever "The Dark Knight Rises," the ambitious modern sci-fi classic "Interstellar," and...

Alex Ross Perry revealed an unexpected inspiration for “Pavements,” his experimental musical biopic concert film about the American indie band Pavement: Christopher Nolan’s Oscar-winning epic “Dunkirk.” Speaking at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, where he is screening both “Pavements” and “Videohaven,” the indie director called Nolan’s effort “one of the most structurally incredible, miraculous scripts ever written.”
“This is a hundred-million-dollar World War II film that, to me, had to be my influence in making this documentary,” he continued. “It has three storylines: one that takes place over a week, one that takes place over a day, and one that takes place over an hour, and 80% of the way through the movie all of them converge at the same point at the same time. I had never seen anything like this done in a script before. It works when you read it and it works when you watch it.

You might expect that a man who has been doing production and set design on feature films for more than 30 years would be a bit jaded, and that earning a seventh Academy Award nomination for his work would be met with a shrug. But that’s not how it’s been for Nathan Crowley. Instead, the man who has made a career of being Christopher Nolan’s go-to production designer exudes joy and excitement while discussing his Oscar bid for Wicked on the eve of final voting on Feb. 11.
“I just wish we could do it all again,” asserts Crowley (watch his full Gold Derby interview above). When his interviewer expresses surprise at this declaration given that the usual feeling is one of relief, he assures, “I think we’ve all been spoiled, because nothing will live up to that experience. I'm not saying that watching a war movie about the rising tide of fascism and the choices we make to either give in or fight back feels oddly relevant these days ... but, well, maybe that's exactly what I'm saying. If there's any genre that we can rely on to comment directly on our present-day political climate, after all, it's this one. In recent years, WWII films have given us high water marks such as "Oppenheimer" and especially the disturbing horror of "The Zone of Interest." But, like clockwork, we always seem to get an annual slew of titles ranging from "forgettable" to "downright misguided." It's frustratingly common to make an undistinguishable feature that either tips into jingoistic territory or settles for shallow inspiration. It's much more difficult -- yet rewarding -- to create something both timeless and urgent with one immaculately-crafted effort.

Tom Hardy portrayed the character of Eddie Brock in Sony’s Venom franchise for six whole years. While the star is known for playing rugged characters on screen, it was his first time being part of a superhero franchise. Needless to say, he won over the fans very quickly with his fantastic performance.

As such, questions about his experience and preparation for the role have hounded the fans for a long time. Surprisingly, Hardy admitted in an interview that he wasn’t quite sold on the idea at first. What changed his perspective, though, was none other than his son.
His son was the one to properly introduce him to the character, and so when he got the script for the movie, the tug of war between the primal and logical self drew him in, and hence the titular character came alive...

What do you do when you’ve been to the vast reaches of space, reversed the temporal flow, ventured into the dreamscape – and, most importantly, swept the Oscars? With a three-hour, doom-laden, politically-driven historical drama, no less? In the wake of Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan could do basically anything. His choice: go full Homer with an adaptation of epic Greek poem The Odyssey. It should add a new quiver to the legendary director’s bow – his first swords-and-sandals epic, possibly his first fantastical film, and one that brings him a new leading man.
With pre-production rapidly ramping up on Nolan’s next movie, here’s what we know so far:
Tom Holland is said to be the lead
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Tom Holland on our screens – following Uncharted and Apple TV drama The Crowded Room, he’s been treading the boards on the West End in Romeo & Juliet.

There are only so many directors in the annals of cinema who audiences know by name. Yes, movie buffs can rattle off the names of plenty of filmmakers, from Guillermo del Toro to David Lean and many, many others in between. But for regular audience members, there's only a few who earn the same name recognition of big-deal movie stars. Currently, there may only be four: Steven Spielberg, Christopher Nolan, Quentin Tarantino, and Martin Scorsese. Think all you like about these auteurs, but they've made so many excellent, memorable, iconic films that audiences know their work and their names so well you can just list out their surnames.
However, due to the fact that all of these men continue to make films in the era of review aggregation online, and because there are so many critics from which to select when you visit sites like Metacritic or Rotten Tomatoes, it's...

Why does Christopher Nolan have a strict no-phone policy while shooting? (Photo Credit – Facebook)
Christopher Nolan aims to create a distraction-free environment, which is the key to creating cinematic magic. “Phones have become a huge distraction, and people work much better without them,” he once told Esquire.
This method isn’t just about cutting out unnecessary noise; it’s about immersing every member of the crew into the “bubble of alternate reality” required for his films. At first, it wasn’t easy for everyone, Nolan admitted, but over time, even the skeptics came around. “I’ve had a lot of crews thank me,” he alluded.
And it’s not hard to see why. Nolan’s sets are like clockwork, each cog crucial to bringing his intricate visions to life. His movies are experiences. From the mind-bending twists of Memento to the intense spectacle of Dunkirk, every frame screams dedication. And keeping distractions at bay?...

What Did Christopher Nolan Say About Netflix’s Movie Streaming Strategy? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Christopher Nolan has always been a staunch defender of the theatrical experience, from the massive IMAX spectacle of Dunkirk to the intricate storytelling of Inception. So, when he lashed out at Netflix for its streaming-first approach, it was no surprise. “Netflix has a bizarre aversion to supporting theatrical films,” Nolan asserted in an interview with IndieWire.
“They have this mindless policy of everything having to be simultaneously streamed and released, which is obviously an untenable model for theatrical presentation.” For Nolan, cinema’s magic is in theaters—big sound, towering visuals, and shared vibes. Streaming doesn’t compare. Dunkirk proved it, with its land, air, and sea action peaking on IMAX.
Netflix backed films like Okja and The Meyerowitz Stories, but Nolan wasn’t sold. “The investment that Netflix is putting into interesting filmmakers and interesting...

The first movie that Christopher Nolan made for a big Hollywood studio is still the most underrated film of his career — and even the director himself agrees. Ever since his groundbreaking Batman reboot made him a household name, Nolan has practically been a franchise unto himself. Along with Quentin Tarantino, he’s one of the only filmmakers whose name alone can attract huge crowds to movie theaters. No one else could make a blockbuster out of a three-hour biopic of a physicist, but Oppenheimer became Nolan’s highest-grossing non-Batman movie (and third highest-grossing film overall).
Nolan is one of the only directors left who can command a nine-figure budget for an experimental original story. He earned enough trust with Warner Bros. to get them to commit as much money to movies like Inception, Interstellar, and Tenet as they would a reliable comic book movie. One of the most successful actors and directors that the world has ever witnessed, Clint Eastwood remains a pop-culture icon even at the age of 94. Bursting onto the scene with his ice-cool breakout turn in Sergio Leone's Dollars trilogy, Eastwood would go on to cement his status as cinema's quintessential badass with his bow as anti-hero cop Harry Callahan in the wildly popular Dirty Harry movie series. Complementing his best movie character roles with a string of acclaimed directorial efforts over the years, the American also boasts four Academy Award wins from 11 nominations.

Hans Zimmer names Inception his most technically innovative film score. Directed by Zimmer's frequent collaborator Christopher Nolan, Inception was released in 2010 and earned over $839 million worldwide. It starred Leonardo DiCaprio among an ensemble cast and followed a group of people with the ability to infiltrate and influence others' dreams. It earned positive reviews and was nominated for eight Academy Awards, winning four.
In a recent interview with Vulture, Zimmer reflected on the creative process behind the Inception score, explaining how he manipulated the very fabric of time through music. He described Inception as a perfect example of this technique, where different musical elements at varying tempos intersected in harmony, creating a soundtrack that was as integral to the storytelling as the visuals. Zimmer also touched on his work for Nolan's Interstellar. Check out his comments below:

Cillian Murphy Discussed Interstellar (Photo Credit – Facebook)
Cillian Murphy and Christopher Nolan? That’s a collab for the ages. Oppenheimer just added another epic chapter to their nearly 20-year partnership. But even with all the badass roles Murphy’s had in Nolan’s films, there’s one flick he totally wishes he’d been in — Interstellar.
In an interview with The Independent, Murphy admitted that he’s often fantasized about joining the 2014 space epic. Interstellar has always been a deeply emotional experience for him, especially after seeing it in theaters with his young kids. “I adore Interstellar just because I find it so emotional,” Murphy confessed. “I remember seeing it in the cinema when I had little kids. It just had a big impact on me. It broke my heart.”
However, Murphy wasn’t bitter about not being cast in the film. He recognized that Nolan made the right choices with the film’s cast.

In the layered and complicated history of DC’s live-action film industry, one of the most iconic films to ever come into existence was Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. Spanning the eras of birth, evolution, and death, the three films rewrote DC history through the enigmatic lens of Nolan’s visionary saga.

But for every great creation, there also exists an antithesis that argues against everything that a work stands for. Nolan’s Dark Knight saga too came under fire for representing a worldview that was deemed problematic by some fans. Although art is always up for interpretation and exploration, fans can often lend the wrong meaning to a project, thus ruining its central message and making it divisive among fans, as a result.

Christopher Nolan's Oscar-winning movie that made $740 million at the box office has landed on Netflix's Top 10 US chart a decade later. The visionary filmmaker is known for masterfully combining complex storytelling with visual spectacle, which often does very well at the box office, making him the seventh-highest-grossing director of all time, and is often showered with major accolades, including two Oscars. One of Nolan's first films, 2000's Memento, did very well at the box office, grossing over $40 million on a small $5–9 million budget and received two Oscar nods, one for Nolan's nonlinear screenplay.

In the 97 years that the Academy Awards have been going, certain genres have always remained the underdogs, regardless of how general audiences may feel about them at any given time in history. When it comes to science-fiction, for example, only two entrants in the genre have actually walked away with the Best Picture Oscar, and both are more recent than you might expect. In point of fact, there hadn't been a single Best Picture-winning sci-fi film at all until Guillermo del Toro's sci-fi horror romance "The Shape of Water" came up for air in 2017. Nevertheless, del Toro's story of a woman (Sally Hawkins) falling for a merman (Doug Jones) managed to check all the required boxes at the time, winning Best Picture over the likes of "Call Me By Your Name," "Get Out," "Dunkirk," "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri," "Darkest Hour," "The Post," "Lady Bird," and "Phantom Thread."

Christopher Nolan has often been praised as one of the most iconic directors to exist in this generation. From mind-bending sci-fi films to the relationship dynamics between characters, only few can reach the level that Nolan is at.

Over the decades, Christopher Nolan has hardly ever failed to bring to the table something truly epic and immersive, worthy of all the love, praise, and accolades it gets. Interstellar ranks among those very projects, as it perfectly blended the themes of space exploration and humanity’s quest to find new habitable planets while incorporating that emotional element into it all.

To say the least, the film has been as outstanding as could be asked for, as Nolan proved to be the best filmmaker for the project, understanding its vision immaculately. But the film wasn’t always supposed to be this way, for if Steven Spielberg had continued to head the piece, it would have resulted in a sci-fi including aliens, killer robots, and Chinese bases on other planets.

Was Cillian Murphy emotionally impacted after Interstellar? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Alright, let’s go full throttle, because Cillian Murphy isn’t here for the bland, generic interviews—he’s keeping it real and revealing his heart in the process.
In a chat with The Independent (via Hindustan Times), Murphy straight-up dropped that Interstellar is the one Christopher Nolan film he wishes he could’ve been in. Let that sink in. Not Inception, not The Dark Knight. Nope. It’s the 2014 sci-fi tearjerker about wormholes, time, and McConaughey crying in space.
But Murphy’s not mad about missing out. “I adore Interstellar just because I find it so emotional. I remember seeing it in the cinema when I had little kids. It just had a big impact on me. It broke my heart. I love watching his films when I’m not in them because you don’t have to freak...

Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey was described as a mythic action film by Universal Pictures in their announcement and it seems like the studio is not holding him back from achieving this feat. According to an insider report, the upcoming epic is set to be mounted on a whopping $250 million budget, making it Nolan’s most expensive film yet.
The filmmaker has proven to be extremely profitable in the past. His previous film Oppenheimer, which was his first collaboration with Universal, was a blockbuster and earned $976 million at the global box office. His earlier films have also been highly profitable, with films like The Dark Knight and its sequel earning more than $1 billion.

Harry Styles is a musical superstar, but he’s also a very talented actor!
The “Watermelon Sugar” crooner made his big screen debut in 2017′s Dunkirk. Since then, he’s pursued a career as a movie star while still ruling the charts with his music.
He was introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and led two acclaimed films in 2022 alone. Like any other actor, though, Harry has been in the running for some major roles that he did not end up landing.
Some of those he was only considered for at early phases in the casting projects. Others he auditioned for before someone else was cast. Harry even passed on a couple of projects for various reasons!
We gathered together everything we know about the roles that Harry was considered for. The list even includes two movies that were already released in 2024 and another that premiered today.

Despite an enviable filmography that affords him the luxury of increasingly impressive projects, there is one, 22-year-old, underrated Christopher Nolan film that I would like to see the director channel more in the future. Nolan has built up his reputation as one of the best directors working today, making mostly original IPs into mega-successful blockbusters, as well as turning his hand to a major fandom with The Dark Knight trilogy.
Pull focus out, though, and Nolan's filmography is varied, with a good mixture of multiple genres, despite unifying themes. Nolan isn't pumping the brakes soon either, even after his Award-winning Oppenheimer. His next project will be a huge undertaking: an adaptation of Homer's epic poem The Odyssey, with the mythic fantasy starring a rich vein of talent including Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, and Lupita Nyong'o.

26 years into his career, Christopher Nolan is charging along on one of the most remarkable creative and commercial runs the film industry has ever seen. Since he burst onto the scene with his breakthrough second feature "Memento" in 2001, all he's done is make one critically acclaimed box office hit after another. Considering the sizable budgets he's become accustomed to working with, it's a winning streak that any of our big-swing maestros can't match. Even Steven Spielberg experienced critical and/or commercial turbulence at this point in his career, with films like "1941," "Empire of the Sun," "Always," and "Hook." But aside from "Tenet" (which would've been a blockbuster had the Covid pandemic not kept the vast majority of moviegoers out of theaters over the summer of 2020), all of Nolan's films have doubled their production budgets at the global box office, and are currently rated fresh at Rotten Tomatoes.

In case you haven't heard, Christopher Nolan's deeply heartfelt space drama, "Interstellar," was recently re-released in IMAX to celebrate its 10th anniversary, and it has become a box office hit all over again. Upon its announcement, the film's entire one-week-only run quickly sold out across 166 screens, grossing a higher per-theater average than box office juggernauts like "Wicked" and "Moana 2." Tickets became so hard to find that they were being scalped and price gouged on the secondary market, like cinema's Taylor Swift. In response, IMAX has since extended the run twice over, capitalizing on the film's strong word-of-mouth and turning it into one of the year's must-see films... again!
The return of "Interstellar" proves why IMAX is the future of filmgoing. The company is estimated to earn over $1.2 billion in revenue this year, somehow surpassing their unprecedented $1.06 billion gross from 2023. However, it isn't just IMAX that is bringing in the big bucks.

In a twist straight out of a movie script, Guy Pearce was nearly cast in Christopher Nolan’s Batman films, but something dark and blood-curdling kept him out. Nolan, known for his precision in casting, had a strange reason for not bringing Pearce on board. It wasn’t about talent or timing – it was something far more sinister.

Director Christopher Nolan has established himself as one of the few filmmakers who can consistently tell fresh stories. Nolan’s films received critical acclaim and the director built his success on the back of his Dark Knight trilogy. However, Nolan has since stayed away from the plague of franchise filmmaking.

The Odyssey is making its way to the big screen under the directorial charm of Christopher Nolan in 2026. The Ancient Greek epic tells the story of the King of Ithaca, Odysseus, as he makes his way back to his home after the Sacking of Troy. While it seems to be an odd film for Nolan to dive into, especially given his foray into science fiction and World War II period pieces, there is a reason why the Interstellar and Tenet director might be well-equipped to tell the story after all.

Harry Styles just made his second Marvel appearance in three years, and his cameo was wasted both times. The British singer is no stranger to acting, having a starring role in Don’t Worry Darling and a supporting role in Dunkirk. However, it still felt like a big surprise when Styles scored a role in the MCU. Making his official MCU debut in 2021 during the Eternals mid-credit scene, he was introduced as the Eternal Eros, also known as Starfox and the brother of Thanos.
I was actually excited to see how Marvel would utilize Styles’ character in the future. It would’ve been an expansion of Thanos’ character even after his death, and it would’ve been a chance for Styles to show off more of his serious acting chops. Unfortunately, he has been missing from the MCU since his initial introduction. He did technically make another Marvel cameo recently in Kraven the Hunter,...

Tom Holland recently addressed his new movie with director Christopher Nolan. The film, which currently has no title attached, is set to star Holland alongside Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron, with a release date scheduled for July 17, 2026. War movies continue to be a powerful medium for exploring the complexities of conflict, heroism, and sacrifice — and some of the best ones have come out in the past decade. Whether the films showcase historical events or modern-day combat, they offer profound reflections on the human cost of war. Each leaves a lasting impression with its powerful narrative, remarkable performances, and exceptional film-making style.
Over the past decade, filmmakers have pushed the boundaries of storytelling, offering fresh perspectives and intense portrayals of wartime experiences. From the gritty realism of 1917 and Dunkirk to the emotional depth of Hacksaw Ridge and American Sniper, these films have captivated audiences with their raw depictions of war’s impact on both soldiers and civilians. There are so many different ways a story of war can be told. Whether it's through brutal realism, introspective thought, or a complete removal from the horrific reality of combat, each vision is important and valid.

The Weeknd’s upcoming 2025 thriller has found two new cast members in Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan. The two young actors have had an illustrious career so far. Christopher Nolan is now one of the most celebrated and revered filmmakers working in Hollywood today. His most recent movie, the critically-acclaimed Oppenheimer, grossed a staggering $975 million worldwide last year, despite being a three-hour, R-rated historical drama. Nolan himself is now a draw for audiences, and there's a great deal of anticipation regarding his upcoming film, which is set for release in 2026.
Though the casts in Nolan movies have been quite varied since the director's big break with Memento in 2000, there are some actors who have cropped up in his films multiple times. Christian Bale, for example, starred in Batman Begins in 2005 before starring in The Prestige the next year. Michael Caine, too, has appeared in The Prestige, the Dark Knight trilogy, Inception (2010), Interstellar (2014), Dunkirk (2017), and Tenet (2020). Robert Pattinson, who starred in Tenet, is now also set to join the two-timers club with Nolan's upcoming movie.
