Entertaining and rich of historical footage, the film skillfully reconstructs the story of a myth, the one of Harry's Bar in Venice, a restaurant founded in the thirties by a barman, Giuseppe Cipriani, with the help of a rich American, fond of his cocktails. Giuseppe's son Arrigo tells the story of the place and the secrets of its success, a formula he calls "complex simplicity", based on respecting tradition, taking care of every detail, and make the costumer feel at home. Arrigo is a very smart man, a hard worker and a very entertaining narrator, I found myself waiting for him to come on screen again. Beautifully shot and edited, this film makes you feel nostalgic about an era when elegance and quality had a much deeper meaning.
