Pretty interesting drama. I found it on Netflix and decided to watch because it only had 38 episodes and it had a dysfunctional love story, which are always pretty good to watch. Overall, this drama was pretty good. It kept me watching, even though sometimes it was like a soap opera. Soap opera, meaning it wouldn't get to the point and would just waste time of facial expressions. The hero and heroine was pretty good looking and make a good pair. The main villian was a pretty good actor. Everytime he popped up on screen I was pretty be impressed because of his acting skills and because I couldn't really hate him. That may be because of his dysfunctional upbringing. I also enjoyed the secondary characters. They had good storylines and I was invested in seeing what happened to them.

I'm new to Turkish TV/movies but have some knowledge of Turkey, and I have a soft spot for the culture and language. I'm so glad I'm able to see some of these things via Netflix. Hatirla Gonul (sorry, no Umlaut on my keyboard) is the second show I've watched pretty much from beginning to end. At first, I thought it might be a bit too melodramatic for me - Turks are very romantic and seem to love their melodrama. As an American, I'm used to a slightly different point of view, but as a woman I'm always up for some romance lol! Ultimately I was won over by this show. The plot was crazy complex with multiple turns. Improbable for the most part but this just added to the suspense for me. The acting is really quite good, even excellent in some cases. Not to mention that it's so refreshing to see some new faces. The main characters were good (Tekhin was an amazing villain who reminded me a bit of Charles Boyer in Gaslight) but there were standouts among the supporting characters also. I particularly enjoyed the character of Figen, Tekhin's prostitute girlfriend. A raw and often funny character. I'd recommend this show to women who are looking for some chick-flick viewing. I'm looking forward to season 2.

Watch out, as whoever wrote this story has intimate knowledge of or experience with an abusive sociopathic relationship, either as a victim or a counselor. I had just watched another, my first, Turkish series and really enjoyed it, so I thought I would try another. This one was definitely "darker". At times it was really, really hard to sit through and gut wrenching. Great casting and acting, I wanted to smack the doctor (Tekin) more than once. I wanted to shake Gönül to her senses. I loved the screen times of Mahmood and Hilmi. The ending suggests perhaps a Series 2?
I am hooked on this show even though it was made in 2015. I just discovered it on Netflix. It is GREAT!!!

I loved this series and appreciated the fact that it wasn't as long as some of the other Turkish series I've seen recently on Netflix.
The story line did seem rather improbable but I guess that a truly abusive husband with a psychopathic personality could be capable of the insane acts he committed in his determination to keep Gonul for himself. But wouldn't it be scary to get involved with such a man?
Anyway there are other important reasons to watch this series and one of them is to ogle the fabulous good looks of a couple of the lead males. Yusuf is a dish but even more dishy I think is the lawyer, Hilmi.
Furthermore it's always amusing to see the lifestyles of the ultra rich and this series gives a good insight into the lives of 'richer and richer'.
Well worth seeing.

Writers of this show and producers, Great Job! I enjoyed this story-line and the overall acting of all of you in this soap opera. I love the family dynamics and will they or want they. I like the ending leaving you out there wondering, I just wish that there was more to see what will happen with this family. Most everything was answered in this television series. I did so love the love that Engin had for Gokce. That is Gonul and Yusef!. I also have to comment on the visuals of the people in this show. Nice on my eyes especial Engin (Yusef). You are one fine man! Wow! I will say once again you will have to wait until the end to see how this all plays out. I love that because you can not figure it out until the end. If I can tell in the very beginning, it's pointless for me to watch. I like not knowing what will happen. This does that, plus it's interesting from the very beginning. Great job everyone in this series!

Can across this by accident and loved it. Only thing is that you can't walk away from the screen unless you understand Turkish. You have to stay and read, lol. Someone mentioned a season 2. Hope so ~ great acting.

I can not believe how good this series was. The actors were excellent. Very talented! I am still watching Gonul and I don't want it to end. The passion between Gonul and Yusuf is amazing.
