This film is a different version of "Creature Feature: 50 Years of the Gill-Man" made by the same team, and it includes new footage, and some different musical selections. It incorporates many new photographs and has been 10 years in the making since its predecessor.
Eric Rosenberg, who served as Associate Producer, also worked in the same capacity on "Rex," a feature narrative that Sam Borowski produced.
Ben Chapman, who played the original top-side Gill-Man and Arthur Ross, the Oscar-Nominated screenwriter who worked on both the "Creature From the Black Lagoon," and "The Creature Walks Among Us," scripts, both passed away after being interviewed for this film. This is one of the few interviews that Ross, the father of Gary Ross, has given.
Writer-Producer Sam Borowski met Director/Producer/Documentarian Matthew Crick on the first anniversary of 9/11 during a parade of bagpipers, where he first mentioned this project to him. The two then followed up with several meetings and the project came to life.
Sam Borowski was a fan of the "Creature From the Black Lagoon," when his friend, Ben Chapman, the original Gill-Man, discussed him making this film. He has called this picture a "Labor of love," as it took 10 years to complete and distribute.
