Tom Howard only made a couple dozen films...and all but two of them were shorts. I've only seen a few, but did enjoy "Divorce Sweets" because it's strange and quite funny at times.
The story is simple...someone hires a detective (Howard) to prove that their wife is cheating on him in order to get a divorce. While it doesn't sound all that funny, it was and made me smile on occasion.

Tom Howard and George Shelton are a couple of private detectives. They are called upon to provide a co-respondent and witness so their client can get a divorce, collect half a million dollars from his uncle, and then get remarried. It turns out to be not that easy.
This definitely pre-code short comedy is very funny, with risque situations, puns, and even a couple of blue remarks to spice things up, showing Howard & Shelton's clearly burlesque beginnings. The sequence in which Shelton tries to make love to Molly O'Day while Howard reads the instructions from a book which alternates pages on the subject with recipes is particularly funny.
