Rakshit Shetty seemed like a force to reckon with in the Kannada Industry after his first two movies. An amazing entertainer such as Simple-ag-ond-love-story followed by an out of the box movie such as Ulidhavaru-Kandathe, I was a believer that Rakshit is a thinker and his movies are going to be a league apart from the rest of the noise. However after watching Rikki, my belief has taken a serious beating.
Rikki is an excellent example of highly confused story telling! I am not sure if Rishab was trying to create an epic love story, an entertainer or provide a glimpse of harsh reality. He took an ounce of all of the above and made a masala movie which left me seriously confused(and not in a good way). The number of twists in the movie will put Abbas-Mustan to shame.
The review may be a tad bit harsh, but take it with a pinch of salt. Voicing it out to let you know we expect better from folks like you(Rakshit and Rishab).
Go back to the drawing board, see where it went wrong and come back with a winner next time! Cheers.
