Terminal Velocity is the first of several movies made by writer/producer/director Stephen Mitchell that used El Mirage dry lake bed as a location after he worked there as an actor on the CBS TV movie Sole Survivor.
Matthew Ettinger (a friend of Stephen Mitchell) who later co-starred in the director's movie Dead Right loaned a high performance LT-1 Corvette with ZR1 option for actor Joel Hile to use as his car in this movie.
