The scientist played by Tom Brumpton is never identified by name in the film. In the credits, he is named 'Quatermass' after Professor Bernard Quatermass from The Quatermass Experiment (1953)
The green lights that represent the beast are a homage to the Mysterons from Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons (1967)
The snarling sounds of the beast were provided by writer/director Adam Luff before they were doctored in the edit.
Although was not selected at the 2016 Red Ditch Halloween Film Festival, the committee enjoyed the film so much that they gave it a Commendation Award.
The 2 minute 50 second film was re-edited by Adam Luff right down to 15 seconds and created a different movie The Terror Form (2016) which was accepted by the 15 Second Horror Film Challenge. The Terror Form was the original working title of Nurture of the Beast.
