- Trivia(before 22 July 1979) Jerry Lewis stopped production on the movie he was directing in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida by reading a letter to the cast saying the producer involved left because he ran out of the money and there was no money to finance the picture. Lucky if they were able to have their travel expenses covered were the stars assembled, including Red Buttons, Danny Thomas, Sylvia Sydney, Vince Gardenia, James Darren and others. I'm My husband and I were spending the day at Fort Lauderdale Beach, Shortly after arriving, we saw some film crews coming up the street. A car pulled up with cameras on it, which James Darren was driving and then stopped and got out of, then a truck with an elevated chair and a camera on back which Jerry Lewis was filming from pulled up and stopped. It was pretty cool to see. The movie was That's Life and it was ever finished or released.
From what I've read online, Jerry Lewis stopped production on it after reading a letter from the producer that said there was no money to finance the film. The producer left the project because he ran out of money.
It's really a shame they couldn't complete the movie.
