Hydra essentially sacrificed himself in his match with Shane Storm, thus ending Storm's losing streak. It would eventually be revealed that Storm gave UltraMantis Black the counter to Mike Quackenbush's finisher the CHIKARA Special to give to Chris Hero for Hero's match with Equinox, allowing Hero to break the hold and use it to defeat Equinox. It would be revealed that Mantis and CHIKARA Commissioner Bob Saget had brokered a deal to send Hero to wrestle for Dr. Cube in Kaiju Big Battel in exchange for Cube giving Mantis the Eye of Tyr, which would lead to the debut of the Bruderschaft des Kreuzes (BDK) at the end of 2009.
