I have very sad news to report tonight. It has been announced that Tony Todd has died at the age of 69. The legendary actor is best known for his roles in Candyman, Final Destination, Platoon, The Crow, Night of the Living Dead, and his many appearances in the Star Trek franchise. He was a massively talented actor whose incredible baritone voice made every project so much better. This is a huge blow.
Todd’s wife, Fatima, told THR that he died on Wednesday at his home in Marina del Rey after a long illness. New Line Cinema, the studio which produces the Final Destination franchise, wrote on Instagram: “The industry has lost a legend. We have lost a cherished friend. Rest in peace, Tony, -Your Final Destination Family.“

Not to be confused with the 1986 Gary Paulsen novel that was on your fifth-grade reading list, Adam Green's 2007 slasher "Hatchet" was intended to be an homage to the plentiful stalk-and-kill movies from the 1980s. The first "Hatchet" takes place deep in the swamps of Louisana where feckless city-dwellers get lost while taking a swamp tour. They trade stories of Victor Crowley, a local kid with facial differences who, years ago, was trapped in a burning house set ablaze by prankster teens. Crowley was accidentally killed by his father when he recklessly used a hatchet to free him from the fire. Victor's spirit is now said to haunt the swamp and murder interlopers. Of course, Victor will appear to start the predicted murders.
Victor Crowley was played by stuntman Kane Hodder, perhaps best known for playing the masked killer Jason Voorhees in "Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood,...

Screambox is headed back into the swamp with Victor Crowley, as the Bloody Disgusting-powered streamer has added a trio of Hatchet sequels, all courtesy of MPI/Dark Sky Films.
The following Hatchet films are now streaming on Screambox…
Hatchet II, which was directed by Adam Green, serves up a ferocious and exceptionally gory dose of splatterific entertainment with groundbreaking make-up effects, a wildly twisted sense of humor, and an even darker and bloodier ride than the first film. In the film, Marybeth (Danielle Harris) manages to escape the clutches of the bayou-butcher Victor Crowley and returns to the swamp with an army of hunters and gunmen, determined to end Crowley’s reign of horror forever.
In Hatchet III, directed this time by Bj McDonnell, the murderous slasher Victor Crowley takes on an entire police department, paramedic team, and heavily armed S.W.A.T. unit, forcing Marybeth and the troops into an epic showdown.

Ahead of Horror Channel’s UK TV premiere of Adam Green’s Victor Crowley, the great director shares his personal tragedies, George Romero’s inspirational words, the importance of genre comedy and hints that the Bayou Butcher may rise again…
Adam, you’re back on the UK’s Horror Channel this Friday night with your latest ‘Hatchet’ instalment Victor Crowley. Excited?
I’m always thrilled to hear that another one of my films will be playing on the UK’s Horror Channel! It’s crazy to think that the Us hasn’t had a horror specific television channel in 6 years now, only horror themed subscription platforms like Shudder. Then again- look at the real life horror we’re dealing with here as far as our current President goes. Clearly our country has made far worse decisions than doing away with our horror television network.
You’ve called Victor Crowley your most personal movie ever.

It’s going on 10 years since Adam Green and Co. first launched their blood-drenched Hatchet series and still, the name Victor Crowley is enough to send a chill down our spine.
And now, after an extended hiatus, Green is getting the gang back together for a fourth instalment in the cult slasher series simply titled…Victor Crowley. Indeed, it was only last week when we brought you the news that Crowley had narrowed its release window to 2018, and today, the folks at Bloody Disgusting have gone one step further to nail down a specific date: February 6th, 2018.
That’s right, Dark Sky will unleash the demented, strangely deformed Victor Crowley upon Blu-ray, DVD and VOD just in time for Valentine’s Day, and if you’re curious, the official synopsis is as follows:

In the tradition of many secretly-shot sequels to come out recently, Adam Green revealed earlier this year that he’d filmed a fourth Hatchet movie entitled Victor Crowley. He proceeded to show the pic during special one-night screenings from August into November, and fans who’ve been unable to attend have been wondering ever since when the sequel would be properly released.
Well, now we have our answer, as Dark Sky Films’ official Twitter account has announced that Victor Crowley will be with us in 2018, and they even promised that further release info and poster art will be here soon. Unfortunately, they didn’t give us anything more than that, but it’s definitely nice to know that those who haven’t yet seen Green’s latest effort will be able to do so next year.

We’re in the last remaining days of October, meaning many of us will be trying to cram in as many horror movies as possible between now and Halloween. For my last round of Shudder picks this month, I thought I’d go with a much looser theme: there’s nothing that ties these titles together except that they’re really good movies I think you should watch. Some you may recognize, others may be less familiar to you. All of them are worth streaming on Shudder.
The Bride of Frankenstein (1935, dir. James Whale) It’s not officially October without the Universal Monsters, so big thanks to Shudder for adding most of the big ones to their expanding library of streaming options. There’s no wrong choice when it comes to the classics, but I’ll make the case that Universal never got better than The Bride of Frankenstein, James Whale...

Last week, I gave you guys a few lists from Amazon and Netflix in regards to what they have to offer via their streaming services this fall. As a newbie to Hulu, I only discovered over the weekend that they, too, beyond just being an amazing resource for television programming, offer up a killer selection of genre movies that are free to stream with a standard Hulu membership.
Here’s a look at an assortment of 31 films from Hulu that I think would be great movies to stream this October. I tried to give you guys a wide variety, too, hitting various sub-genres, so hopefully there’s a little bit of something for everyone in this list.
The Faculty
As far as high school horror films go, The Faculty has remained one of my very favorites for years now. Essentially, it’s Robert Rodriguez riffing on The X-Files, and who can resist that?...

"It's coming for all of us." Surprise - he's back! A teaser trailer has debuted for a brutal slasher horror titled Victor Crowley, which is the name of the villain in the Hatchet series of horror movies. Victor Crowley is indeed the fourth Hatchet movie, made in secret by filmmaker Adam Green, the same guy who started the series back in 2006. Set a decade after the events of the first three films, the story follows the one-and-only survivor who has been trying to get people to believe his story for years. But he ends up back at the place where it all started, and Crowley is mistakenly resurrected. Starring Kane Hodder and Parry Shen, along with Laura Ortiz, Dave Sheridan, and Brian Quinn. Bloody Disgusting (who premiered the trailer) also just reviewed the film, saying it's "the Gory Slasher Film You’re Craving!" Yes, it looks brutal and very gory.
