Hozier is feeling particularly nocturnal on “Too Sweet,” one of four new releases that appear on his new EP Unheard. The musician first teased the song on TikTok with a quick sketch of a coffee-drinking, chain-smoking skeleton pumping it through its headphones.
“I take my whiskey neat, my coffee black, and my bed at three,” he sings, falling into the rhythm of a true night owl. The “Too Sweet” snippet has been used in more than 38,500 posts on the viral video app this month.

Amelia Heinle, who co-starred with Billy Miller on The Young and the Restless, is remembering her acting partner following his death.
In a touching tribute that Heinle shared on Instagram, the soap star posted a quote from Miller from something he shared with her about his childhood.
“My favorite thing growing up was hiding out from the rain in our little barn with a tin roof on it, it’s still my favorite sound. Listening to it coming down and the way it gave me peace,” read the quote from 2010.
Heinle plays the role of Victoria Newman in the daytime soap, while Miller played the role of Billy Abbott. The fictional characters wed on Y&r the same year that Miller shared this memory with Heinle.

"Make it stop!" Cinedigm already released this film in the spring, but we're just catching up with this trailer for Unearth, an "eco-horror" thriller about farmers and the deadly consequences of allowing fracking. This originally premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival last year, where our writer Zofia gave it a positive review. The bond between two neighboring farm families is put to the test when one of them chooses to lease their land to a gas company with fracking plans. In the midst of this growing tension, the land is drilled and something long-dormant and terrifying is released. Don't mess with nature. "Unearth is about the horrifying repercussions sown by shortsighted decisions, and what our children reap from our actions." The film stars Adrienne Barbeau, P.J. Marshall, Allison McAtee, Rachel McKeon, Monica Wyche, Brooke Sorenson, and Marc Blucas. Yeah this does look incredibly terrifying. Don't frack! Keep that land intact.

Screened as a selection of the virtual 2020 Fantasia Film Festival. When nature is one of the key elements of a film, it usually touches on humanity's relentless power of destruction. This theme is a major part of the newest eco-horror feature, Unearth, co-directed by John C. Lyons and Dorota Swies (Schism), from a script written by Lyons and Kelsey Goldberg. This self-described "fracking horror story" captivates audiences with its intense storytelling and, most importantly, the lessons hidden within. Next to phenomenal directing, its cast, especially Allison McAtee, deliver gratifying performances. Two farm families, the Dolans and the Lomacks, have been neighbors and close friends for quite some time. Both family's daughters grew up together, and now a new member beginning the next generation arrives in the Lomack household. When times start to get tough and every penny counts, the two farming families face a difficult choice. They either firmly stand...

Admittedly, there was a moment about halfway through Unearth, the “fracking horror movie” from directors John C. Lyons and Dorota Swies, when it felt like I was watching some more in line with an ecological drama than anything genre-related. But then as things began to amp up in the last 20 minutes or so, Unearth takes some severely sharp and twisted left turns and the narrative morphs into something more horrific, making the film something I’d ultimately define more as “genre adjacent” than a movie that’s pure horror.
And while I do wish Unearth had leaned into those horror-infused tendencies sooner, the film is definitely well-acted, gorgeously shot and perfectly captures the rising tensions surrounding two families who are faced with difficult decisions as an economic downturn threatens to destroy everything they’ve worked so hard for. Plus, anything with Adrienne Barbeau will always garner my attention, and she’s great here.

“Filmmaking is Not a Job, It’s a State of Mind”: Directors John C. Lyons and Dorota Swies on Unearth
Fifteen years ago I was touring the regional horror film festival circuit with my first feature when I discovered the work of John C. Lyons, a filmmaker based in Erie, Pennsylvania whose short Hunting Camp was one of the more inventive and compelling movies I encountered that year. It was also one of the most interestingly photographed, by cinematographer Dorota Swies, who formed Lyons Den Productions with Lyons in 2004; the two of them have been working together ever since. Their latest collaboration and first feature together is the environmental horror movie Unearth, set to premiere on August 25 at this year’s virtual […]...

Tagline: "A Fracking Horror Story." Unearth is an ecological survival horror story. Set to show at this year's virtual Fantasia Film Festival, Unearth looks at the dangers of fracking and a looming environmental crisis. This title was developed by John C. Lyons (Schism) and Dorota Swies. And, the cast consists of horror favourite Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog), along with: Brooke Sorenson ("Modern Family"), P.J. Marshall and Rachel McKeon. This title appears at Fantasia in late August, with a preview available here. The movie poster for Unearth shows some of the environmental damage as an icon of Mother Earth suffers above. This graphic hosts skull and bones as trees wither. Very smokey, characters Kathryn (Barbeau) and Christina (Allison McAtee) hover above. All of the film's promotional materials have been intriguing thus far. Unearth will have two appearances at this year's festival. First, the film will show on August 25th, followed by another showing on August 30th.

This year has seen every film festival struggling to find ways to present new films to their audience safely, without risk of infection, in the midst of a global pandemic. And after long and serious discussion, Grimmfest will be going ahead in a new format for 2020 – offering a roster of feature film premieres and shorts programmes across a new online platform.
Grimmfest’s live event at the Odeon Great Northern, Manchester, will be postponed until spring 2021. But fear not, a new online alternative “virtual festival” will run from 7 – 11 October 2020 and will present over 19 features, two short film showcases, and an exclusive Q&a with the Master of Horror himself, Mick Garris, who will also be receiving a Lifetime achievement award.
And what’s more, Grimmfest have released info on the first selection of premieres that will screen as part of the new venture. From the press release:
