I see about one movie a week so very seldom am I surprised by anything new and exciting that I see in motion pictures today everything is a retread or special effects or predictable or I forget about five minutes after I'm done seeing it however tournament is a very unique and special film it's a film that has heart humor in everything you could possibly want out of a film great pacing music directing script story the actors are top notch it starts from a very simple premise of a bunch of friends who make it to a local game store every week to play a card game tournament and they have a championship for a prize once a month the characters are very well written and you will recognize them whether you play card games or not whatever your social circle is you'll notice each character from your own life and need to know nothing about cards games which is secondary to the film- you will see a little bit of yourself in each character-it reminded me a lot of the film 12 angry men where it stayed in one room pretty much and from beginning to end the characters grow tremendously through their own trials and tribulations it's exciting to see where the characters go from the beginning of the film to the end of the film-I've seen the film on multiple viewings and I discover something different about it each time there's many hidden Easter eggs and it's a lot of fun to watch these characters as they will stay with you long after you've left the theater or a viewing of the film-there are people/characters in the film that will remind you of yourself or other people you know in your social settings I look forward to see the next film from this creative and Exciting directing and production and writing ensemble I give this film my highest recommendation and encourage you all to see it 10 out of 10 stars
