Yes it is. Severe nudity and sex, nothing but just nudity and sex scenes. This is a "big porn series" with a storyline for sure. It teaches you how to "dominate" and how to give a sexual pleasure to women. Torture, threesome, dominant, anything you see in a porn clip will be in this tv series too. The show somehow indicates than women enjoy sex and they want to be dominated, but in fact they don't. Most women don't like those sex in this show and they certainly do not like to be treated like a sex toy. Watch the finale episode to see a dramatic turn. The ending indicates that there should be a season 2 but no it's just one season TV mini series.
So... How is 'Submission' better than the Fifty Shades series? The series co-creator, Jacky St. James said that It (Fifty Shades of Grey) made it seem like it (BDSM) was for people that were messed up or dark and it's not at all. In my opinion, Elliott is more cunning and messed up than Grey. 'Submission' gives the impression that this kind of sexual practice is not for people with a dark past but for tricksters and womanizers. Additionally and more importantly, it nuances that hierarchical relationship in the bedroom is extended to the whole relationship. The dominant, Elliott, is violent, coercive and selfish in daily life as well, and in many cases this is not true. Main characters' acting is sub-par and even annoying. It's funny that regular or day-to-day scenes are worse than sex scenes.

Finally, someone actually writes a sexually exciting night-time series! I have never been able to watch soft core porn - because the sex is essentially removed while all the fun of the inner human psyche is gone. But not this time! I only want to know, what do I need to do not to see this one get canceled?! Is there a place where I can give stars to this series that will make this one stay? What really is amazing about this series is that it shows, very honestly, that BDSM, poly, experimental, or vanilla, people are just people, and are subject to all the same issues - the need to be seen, to be understood, to be loved, and to deal with our own inner drama and insecurities. It actually shows that sex and sexuality is something to be explored and embraced, not shunned away. Men and women equally are sexual creatures, all on a journey. I just love how amazingly sexy this series is without giving up on human interaction and the gunk of the human drama. I don't know how it does it, but the balance is achieved. I can't wait until the finale! When is it coming back?!
A side from tits and ass+a few brief crotch shots, this show has really nothing going for it.At least not from a my point of view. The whole BDSM thing is rather poorly scripted.I'm far from any expert on the subject, but this is to soft and to cuddly.Only thing missing is a big fluffy teddy bear.
Most of the cast seem to be quite fresh and relatively unknown, which is a good thing, cause than you often avoid overacting I feel this series was made for lonely housewife's. It's very stereo typical. The women are always sexually frustrated, but able and willing, and the male is always very fit. Would be nice if they could mix it a little bit more up.
But the most funny part here is that the so called master really have very little to bring to the table. First of all he look like the pizza guy, in Fast times At Ridgemont High. Second, his slaves don't respect him at all. Not to mention he goes to great length to give the women orgasm. While hey have to do very little for him, except be there and spread their legs.Gotta be the worst domination in history. Also he doesn't seem to have a lock on his front door.
As someone else pointed out in here..Watch basic instinct instead, there you at least have intensity and chemistry

Frankly I find this series at least AWFUL.
Nice girls, not so good looking men.
A typical story-line. Just to have an excuse to show tits.
It is a soft porn but the worst kind.
I mean, if you have watched Red Shoe Diaries or the movies Nine 1/2 Weeks, Wild Orchid or Basic Instinct, you can understand the TRUE sexual tension, the eroticism. Or the mini series Flesh and Bone.
I truly believe that there is plenty of room for erotic series either on Showtime or in any other cable channel.
But "Submission" is a total waste of time.

Looking for a bit more kink in your soft core? Well, here it is.
While there is regular softcore straight sex, the whole point of this series was to get into some BDSM content and ride the 50 Shades wave.
They have a couple of surprising relationship twists, but mainly a woman coming off the breakup of an unsatisfying relationship with a bad boyfriend moves in with a friend in a small town ... needing a job.
She finds a book called "Slave" in the house, and though she denies it to her friend and housemate, it turns her on in a big way.
THEN, she discovers the male author of the book lives in town and is in the social circle. Have some patience. It takes into episode four before those two "get together", but it's worth the wait.

Based on the first episode, submission seems to want to bring porn to something like the old MTV series Undressed. So basically you have some sort of "comic" exchange between characters, and then there's some nudity, and then some more "comedy."
The series is competently filmed and acted, but the writing fails to make any of it interesting. As for the porn, well, it's kind of unsexy. Like the dialogue, it feels like it's just there because they decided to make a porn comedy and thus they are contractually required to have some sex and have some banter.
For what it's worth the creator of this series writes and directs hardcore porn and in that field she's won a number of awards.

Not sure why it's taken so long to get a show on the air that includes BDSM. I guess the popularity of Fifty Shades of Grey really proved that there is an audience for this topic. Submission is a decent show, it certainly keeps me coming back for more. I'm craving to see more of the Dominant/submissive dynamic and the show seems to be going in that direction. The first episode was slow, but the show gets increasingly better as the series goes on.
I like the fact that there's a solid story-line for this late night show. Too bad there's nothing out there on dominant women... I would find that infinitely more interesting.

If you're looking for a pretext to put on your headphones on, to not appear as a total creep to the rest of your family/friends/roommates, this is it! This was suggested in the recommendations for the show "The Girlfriend Experience", but in all honestly these two shows are nothing alike. This series is kicking things up a notch, bringing together quite trivial topics and making me feel worse, not to mention question my previous encounters, every minute (Don't take it too seriously :D). The show puts three women heroines in the story and shows their point of view. Wouldn't say I enjoyed the first episode, but it wasn't that bad. I'm a simple man, it doesn't take much to keep my attention. I won't, however, be following the series, from my stand point it's a little too much for me; as I've mentioned, since there are three heroines in the story, this might have a greater appeal to the female audience.

I love the movie. it seems that the reason behind the plot is that she wanted to create a better version compared to 50 shades of Grey. The series co-creator, Jacky St. James, mentioned that she was unhappy with the way BDSM was portrayed in Fifty Shades of Grey, which she considers "passed off an abusive relationship as an honest interpretation of the BDSM lifestyle". She hoped to create a more nuanced view of the BDSM world with the series. The lead actress Ashlynn Yennie also echoed the creator's sentiment saying, "Fifty Shades of Grey was not a correct portrayal of the type of sex that people practice. It made it seem like it was for people that were messed up or dark and it's not at all." She hoped that the show "can shatter that glass ceiling of false belief and show the world what it truly means to trust, communicate, and finally feel free to talk about what you want and don't want sexually in a consensual and healthy way." Well she got it. I agree it is better then 50 shades of Grey. wished there were more episodes though.
The series is very underwhelming. The second season of Netflix's COMEDY series, Bonding, demonstrates BDSM in a much more interesting and real way than this disappointment that is Submission.
If you are looking for BDSM, go watch something else like Dogs Don't Wear Pants.

You want to see some naked women? Who like be treated like garbage in sex? Then this is ideal show for you. Acting, script and pretty much everything is disaster. Fast remote all six episodes, sad for lost time. Hard to see which audience this show targets. Maybe little boys who never saw a women naked. Maybe I cant even think anybody else. It is obvious that this show is approved by 50 shades of gray. So if you didn't like that you certainly wont like this. I gave this show a 2. Because as a male I enjoyed in women nudity which was pretty good. That is only good thing I can recall. There is so much better TV out there don't waste time on this one.
First of all, let's be clear: This is NOT "I Love Lucy". Submission is here to push the limits, and push the limits it does. This is the kind of show that is fun to watch now but I really wish was on the air when I was 13 so my friends and I could sneak a viewing while the parents slept.
It seems pretty clear that this show got a green light because of the success of 50 Shades of Grey. While the overlap is similar, it will be interesting to see how Submission shakes out over multiple episodes. With more breathing room than a single feature, we get to see multiple relationships build in more complex and interesting ways that we got to see in 50.
For anyone who says it's too campy - Nobody reads a romance novel for its trenchant insights into the human spirit's capacity for innovation. For anyone who's rolling their eyes at the amount of BDSM media coming down the pipeline these days, relax. We're just getting more media across the board, regardless of genre or themes. We can all have our cake AND eat it too!

My favorite part of Submission was the character played by Justin Berti, Elliot. I thought the execution of this character is exactly what women wanted when they went to see Fifty Shades of Grey. I was one of the many women that were left wanting more out of the Christian Grey character but Elliot has completely filled that void. His voice is perfection, his demeanor and overall persona is just so intriguing and delicious to watch. The show pushes it in many ways but it's not conventional and that's what the women who are curious about that subject want to see. I want to see more of Elliot and I'm hoping they don't keep us waiting for too long....I am waiting for Season 2!
I do find this opportunity to give a smattering of that other world of Bd/Sm public viewing, a chance for adults to relax and perhaps reminisce; although lack of full nudity (Americanism)was a minus, the story has its merit's The actors fit their roles very well, the half hour segments were not long enough, plus repeats of the previous showing were, I thought too much, Has there been any S/m shown; Hardly, the bondage is a little lack luster, Skin Diamond was a diamond in the rough!! Finding Ashley is a gem also.. The Master(Dom) relationship also needed some more thought than that which I saw in the four episodes.
The series is developing very well. It is enjoyable and fun to watch. Definitely a show to watch. The characters are well cast and are believable.
As the series continues it will become a ground breaking series.
I look forward to watching how the characters interact with each other and have been watching since the beginning. I hope that the series continues and even is released in DVD for purchase.
I would like to see the series develop more in the way of the more cerebral aspects of the relationship. While the erotic scenes are hot and stimulating. The major draw to D/S is the mental aspects and the desire to surrender.

What can I say about Showtime Season 1 of SUBMISSION. I voted a 10 out of 10 , cause it deserves it . The story line and and cast are outstanding. The writing was excellent Jacky St.James, did a wonderful job with the show. All the other people that were involved in it. The cast is fantastic. My favorite character is Elliott, being played by Justin Berti he draws you into the world of BDSM in the first scene of Episode 1. He had me hooked. The other actors have also done a wonderful job with there characters. The world of BDSM, can be intimidating. But SUBMISSION shows you a softer side. Elliott (Justin Berti) Can tie me up anytime. Submission also shows you that you can be kinky and wild , without crying of being in pain. Please bring back for another Season , I cant get enough of Elliott ( Justin Berti).

This is basic daily life for my wife and I, to some extent. It's nice to see a good representation of what could be done if it's something that you are into. The show did have a few things in it that we do not do, and that's our preference. Reminds me of Fifty shades, but without the bad taste in your mouth. This was done tasteful, less abusive way too. I wouldn't call it porn, but some good TV erotica. If more came out, I'd watch everyone of them. Be a sad day if it got canceled like all the other good shows.. I could see quite a few more things being done in the future. The shows first seasons ends with a huge cliff hanger, as usual. I really would like to know what happens next dang it!

With all the tripe and spin surrounding Game of thrones showing up close and graphic male genitalia but no female genitalia. (as they are all either behind merkins or have been CGI altered to take away detail) It's nice to see a program I can watch with the wife that shows neither. Story is OK and acting is also for this type of production. We don't need to see penises and vulvas to watch a late night erotic program. Well done to the program makers. But a word of warning: - If you are going to show a penis , make sure you show a vulva. That doesn't mean a merkin or a labia patch it means a vulva! #nudityequality More and more men and women are getting very tired of all the inequalities. There is nothing wrong or dirty with female genitalia. Hollywood - lose the taboo.

Do you know what is missing in regular porn videos that we watch. It lacks story. No matter how good looking the actress are I really need a story line to get my self into the video (porn). If you watch a soft core porn movie there is no sex scene or no nudity. But if you watch a porn movie there is only sex and no story. But in this there is nudity, sex and most importantly story.
Don't get me wrong. This is not a porn series. But yes it is an erotic series. The sex scene and how well they are shot are really great. I really needed the second season. But so far there is only one season and i don't think there will be any second season.
I think this series is mainly for men. It has what it takes to keep you engaged. Don't take me wrong this is not that perfect show.
I gave it 8 rating because as told you I like porn with strory.
