Production was halted in March 2020 due to governmental restrictions. During that time, Jeff Bridges was diagnosed then treated for non-Hodgkins lymphoma. After he recuperated, the series went back into production. Bridges referred to the return as going back after a "long weekend" on a podcast in July 2022.
