The one other review here is ridiculous. The person sez this is a movie they thought they's "binge watch." You binge watch a series not a single movie.
Fake review.
The film is pure boring schmaltz. Adrienne Barbeau cannot act. And Corbin Benson will always be The Dentist.

Seems like a woman will like this type of film that explores and analyses the feelings. Guys could probably care less. Myself not into psychology of feelings displayed on the big screen. Poor acting other than Dinosaur Boy and dialog was kinda out there in nowheresvillie. Most interactions between main characters seems stressed and unbelievable. Waste of time for me.
No action etc, this is a film about a woman coming to terms with her past through the experiences on a road trip with her unpleasant friend and some characters she meets on the way. Genuine laughs and some good movie attributes. I was most pleased to guess her favourite dinosaur correctly. Can't really justify an 8 or above as this is getting into seriously good cinema territory but this is a whole jump ahead of Hallmark etc.
If you're looking for a basket of terrible cliches, this is absolutely your film. You'll feel like you're just coming home from school in 1987 all over again!
The entire plot is useless, the entire cast outside the bird-brained protagonist are all plot devices that are pointless, and everyone has the acting skills of a Hallmark movie set (that is, nobody can act.)
Skip it.

I really liked this film. I think there are a lot of films out there that kind of brush over pain and struggle. They are like "oh this person had bad things happen to them and bam now they are fine". This film allows the characters to hurt and be real! I liked that it's not super Hollywood it's a real indie drama. The cinematography was also stunning! Makes me want to take a drive up the coast.

Camera man, directing, sound capture, acting are poor. Fake rating, think twice before you watch. Story line is weak as well.
This was a pleasant surprise. I just happened upon this movie after returning from a trip to California and traveling the lower half of 101. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline...just hoping there will be a sequel!!!!

There is very little to like about this movie. The writing is schmaltzy and the story movies slowly. The character of Vera was bad enough to tolerate, but when you throw in the village idiot, Noah, whose acting was unrelentingly bad and grating, you have the recipe for a movie that constantly leaves you wishing for it to come to a merciful end.

Open your hearts, reviewers who gave this stunning film less than at least 9 stars. This is one of the best dramas I have ever seen. It's not a typical surfing movie--no, not by far. It starts a bit slow, but then it really picks up, and opportunities for love and acceptance begin to pour. Bravo to all involved! You have really given your viewers excellence and a perfected philosophy of love, forgiveness, acceptance, and hope.

Swell is a breath of fresh air, a movie that engages you, gets inside you, pulls at your heart, and makes you laugh and cry. Just like life. There's nothing more captivating than a story that opens painful childhood memories and stops you emotionally dead in your tracks, and then puts you in uncomfortable relationships with loving friends who walk with you until you overcome and find resolution and peace. The storyline is so well written and the acting so genuine (Bernsen, Spiro, Wittman), you won't pause it once. Unlike many movies that grip you, but leave you feeling unsettled when it's over, Swell leaves you feeling deeply affected but somehow content and satisfied. But now I've done it-told you all about the movie! I would have given Swell 11 stars but the limit is 10.

Life changing personal story and gorgeous setting. This movie was unexpectedly good, the cover does not do it justice. It is much deeper, dramatic, and extremely well done.

I really liked this movie! It is not my the kind of movie I normally watch, but it pulled me in ... I fell in love with the people in this movie. I wanted the best for all of them! This movie tells a great story & makes an even more important statement along the way!!!

The title photo was misleading, I expected some cheesy movie which I would bingewatch but I was really surprised to find out this beautiful story, about people seeking themselves. Words cannot explain how beautiful this movie is. Real life story. Beautiful, amazing shots of oregon included there, beautiful scenery amazingly done. I got the message but Im wondering what she found out at the end
