Stars: Douglas Smith, Kimberly-Sue Murray, Carrie-Anne Moss, Frank Grillo, Jonathan Cherry | Written and Directed by Lowell Dean
Die Alone is the most recent film from Saskatchewan-based filmmaker Lowell Dean. If you’ve heard of him, it’s probably because of the over-the-top genre comedies WolfCop and Another WolfCop. But he’s done several other films, including the zombie film 13 Eerie and the post-apocalyptic action film SuperGrid, which I was lucky enough to catch along with a Q&a session with him at the Saskatoon Fantastic Film Festival a few years back.
Both zombies and a post-apocalyptic setting return in Die Alone, but it’s not a typical tale of the zombie apocalypse, although that isn’t easy to tell from the opening scenes. Ethan and his girlfriend Emma were heading to his cabin when their car crashed. Ethan wakes up to find Emma and most of his memories, are missing.

The life and career of legendary cyclist Marshall Walter “Major” Taylor will receive the biopic treatment with the feature drama “Black Cyclone,” helmed by Canadian filmmaker Clement Virgo.
The film depicts the life story of the pioneering bicycle racer, best known to the world as “Major” Taylor. At the turn of the 20th century, Taylor made history when he became the world’s fastest man, as well as America’s first Black world champion, at the height of the Jim Crow era. Set in the late 1890s and early 1900s, an official description of the film notes taht “Black Cyclone” follows Taylor as he “confronted racism, both subtle and deadly, yet triumphed with sheer will, the love of a woman, and his troubled alliances with a Black trainer and a white promoter.”
Of boarding the project as its director, Virgo said, “Major Taylor was a fascinating enigma, an athlete ahead of his time.

Though production around the world has shut down amid the ongoing global health crisis, one movie has, against all odds, wrapped shooting. Starring Mickey Rourke, the World War II fantasy film “Warhunt” has, according to Variety, finished production while filming in Riga, the capital of Latvia, where cast and crew were allowed to continue working under strict guidelines.
According to the report, the filmmakers and cast had to wear face masks and gloves, have their temperature taken twice a day, and abide by social-distancing and hygiene guidelines in Latvia, where the current number of confirmed Covid-19 cases is 812 as of Sunday. The country has seen only 12 deaths so far, along with more than 260 recoveries.

Co-written by Araki, who also directs, and Vogue.com sex columnist Karley Sciortino, Now Apocalypse is a 10-episode surreal, coming-of-age comedy that follows Ulysses (Jogia) and his friends Carly (Berglund), Ford (Mirchoff) and Severine (Mesquida), who are on various quests pursing love, sex and fame while navigating the strange and oftentimes bewildering city of Los Angeles.
Mitte will play Leif, a hot guy who becomes a temptation for Carly (Kelly Berglund) after she meets him by the pool in Palm Springs. Cox is Amber, Carly’s (Berglund) roommate, who complains to her about another disastrous Tinder date.

Even though Christmas is technically over, that doesn’t mean there still aren’t a few gifts for genre fans this week in the form of some killer Blu-ray and DVD releases. It’s a relatively quiet day for home entertainment debuts, but the films coming home on December 26th make up an entertaining assortment of viewing experiences to get you through this final week of 2017.
Rlj Entertainment is keeping busy on Tuesday with a pair of brutally awesome movies—Joe Lynch’s Mayhem and S. Craig Zahler’s Brawl in Cell Block 99—and for those of you who may have missed it in theaters, the Flatliners remake comes home to both formats as well. Terminator 2: Judgment Day is coming to 4K this week, too, and you can see Wesley Snipes take on aliens in The Recall, to boot.

ScreenAnarchy has your first look at the trailer for Rob W. King's dystopian thriller The Humanity Bureau starring Nicolas Cage. The Humanity Bureau is the second title in a six-picture slate deal between Minds Eye Entertainment, Vmi worldwide and Bridgegate Pictures following Wesley Snipes's The Recall, which was recently released. Shot in Canada, The Humanity Bureau used the new Barco Escape multi-screen, panoramic movie format, which is supposed to offer the ultimate immersive cinematic experience that uses three screens to fully surround the viewer. Portions of the films will also be shot in Virtual Reality. Looking at this trailer it's hard to imagine how any of that works, and experiencing the film in the intended way would depend on whether the film gets a theatrical...

Another month, another Wesley Snipes film. He sure is on the comeback trail now right? Ok, maybe not, especially given that this, like Final Recall, has headed direct to DVD. To be fair though, the “another month, another…” could also apply to WWE studios, who seem to have gone back to churning out direct to market films much like when they first stepped into the world of film production. Following the usual standard of having one of the many WWE Superstars take a break from the wrestling ring and appear on-screen, Armed Response features the “Kingslayer” himself, Seth Rollins, in a supporting role – yes, a supporting role. Unlike ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, Dolph Ziggler, John Cena, Randy Orton, The Miz, and hell, even...

"Whoever did this is still inside." Saban Films has debuted the trailer for a weird new sci-fi action thriller titled Armed Response, starring Wesley Snipes - who seems to be back in action between this and The Recall. The film is about a crew of special forces soldiers who go to a special high-tech military compound to investigate the disappearance of another team guarding the facility. The facility, known as a "Temple", is run by artificial intelligence designed to interrogate high level prisoners. But things get very strange as soon as they arrive. This also stars Anne Heche, Dave Annable, Gene Simmons, Anthony Azizi, and WWE Superstar Seth Rollins. I really don't know what to think of this - could be bad, could be okay. Take a look. In his first leading role since 2012’s cult [s]hit Gallowwalkers, action superstar Wesley Snipes returns to the screen in Final Recall, alongside Rj Mitte (Breaking Bad) and Jedidiah Goodacre (Tomorrowland). Here, Snipes has a hell of good time as a no-nonsense survivalist trying to stop aliens from taking over planet Earth, and attempting to convince a cabin full of teens what is at stake – basically, the end of humanity.
A group of friends are spending the weekend at a cabin on the lake while, unbeknownst to them, aliens have begun to attack planet Earth. A number of the friends are abducted immediately by the ship hovering above, and the remaining two of the group, Annie and Charlie, must rely on an eccentric and dangerous hunter who seems to have special knowledge of the attack, explaining that this day has been prophesized for years and extraterrestrials have been guiding Earth’s evolution in preparation for their ultimate takeover.
Final Recall, aka The Recall, is released in the UK on Digital HD on August 14th and DVD on August 21st.

August will bring us a brand new Wesley Snipes movie, and you can see the trailer right here...
Wesley Snipes was released from prison for tax evasion back in 2013, but since then we've not seen too much of him in the world of films. The iconic Blade actor has appeared briefly in Expendables 3 and Spike Lee's Chi-Raq, but other than that he's been Mia from movies.

2017, however, will provide a bountiful supply of Snipes. Remember Wesley Snipes? He used to do stuff like make movies. In his long career, he's hunt down vampires and future cops. Well, he's Back Bitches! And this time he's hunting aliens!
In his new film, The Recall, Snipes stars alongside five young actors, the names of which you'd probably never recognize unless you know them personally or you are a super fan (stalker). The theaters these days are filled with re-makes, live adaptations of classic animated films and video game adaptations. The next one on the list going into production is the classic video game Rampage, by Bally Midway who sold the rights to Warner Bros. Pictures. This game was released in 1986 in which players controlled one of three giant monsters and attempted to destroy a city before they were taken out by military forces. When we first learned about the project there was one actor confirmed for the film, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. As of today we have a lot more information.
Over the weekend Johnson posted some an image of himself working out and gave us a little bit of information about the film. Yesterday, also through Instagram he took a photo with actor Jason Liles in a motion caption suite, who will be playing George, an albino gorilla. He goes...

Cinema Blend reports that the trailer for the new Wesley Snipes movie The Recall is out. The movie focuses on five friends who make their way to a remote cabin in the woods for some fun and relaxation only to encounter anything but. They run into a man calling himself The Hunter, played by Wesley Snipes, who they think is crazy but turns out to be more sane than they realize. He also turns out to be their only hope to stay alive.
The only memorable part of the trailer is Wesley Snipes. I get the impression that a person would have a similar real life experience running into Wesley Snipes as the characters in the trailer did when they first meet him. Other than that, the trailer comes off as a strange hybrid of The Evil Dead, Aliens, and Passenger 57 that just doesn't work for me. The basic...

"The last 60 years they've been conducting test runs..." Minds Eye Entertainment has unveiled an official trailer for a sci-fi thriller titled The Recall, from Italian concept artist/filmmaker Mauro Borrelli. The film is about a group of friends vacationing at a remote cabin lake house when aliens attack Earth. Soon they meet a mysterious "hunter" who has been predicting the alien's arrival, helping them escape safely. Wesley Snipes plays that hunter and the cast includes Rj Mitte, Jedidiah Goodacre, Vicellous Shannon, Niko Pepaj, Elisha Kriis, Hannah Rose May, Laura Bilgeri, and Guy Griffithe.
