Exclusive: In one of the largest orders ever, Lifetime has picked up six new seasons — Seasons 12-17 — of its flagship reality series Married at First Sight.
Additionally, Lifetime has greenlighted a new spinoff series, Married at First Sight: Unmatchables with an eight-episode order and has given a blind commitment to another series from the Married at First Sight franchise producer, Kinetic Content. Along with the recent pickup of 16 additional episodes from new offshoot Married at First Sight: Couples Cam, this brings the total order to Kinetic Content to almost 400 hours. Lifetime is expected to make an announcement during its portion of the summer press tour this morning.
The massive renewal follows a two-season pickup Married at First Sight received last year, which included the series undergoing a supersizing with more couples and longer episodes.
It also comes as Married at First Sight‘s eleventh season, which launched July 15, is delivering strong ratings.

Film and TV is back in action in Georgia, where the state’s film commission says 14 projects are currently prepping for or are in production. Those are the ones it can name. Deadline has identified others, with most in early prep that’s ramped up sharply this week, a sign of progress for the industry and the Hollywood hub that like other hotspots has seen a surge in Covid-19 cases recently.
A spokesperson for Pinewood Studios Atlanta, which has 18 sound stages, said “advance teams are back.”
Blackhall Studios, with nine sound stages, has had “bodies on the ground” prepping since Monday for two film productions by 20th Century Studios and Universal, said CEO Ryan Millsap. More key personnel are expected to land over the next two weeks. “It will be a ramp-up,” he said.

Don't expect to see former Little Women: Atlanta castmember Melissa Hancock back on TV anytime soon. The 26-year-old reality star was sentenced for her fatal DUI crash back in November on Oct. 10, and sadly, she will spend the next 16 years behind bars, according to Virginia's 13 News Now. In 2017, Melissa was arrested after hitting another car head-on, while driving down the wrong side of an interstate in Virginia Beach at 2 a.m.. She was charged with — and admitted to — aggravated involuntary manslaughter, driving under the influence, driving the wrong way, and failing to obey a highway sign. (Photo Credit: Virginia State Police) The crash left 29-year-old coast guard technician Daniel Dill dead after Melissa hit his 2009 Mazda with her 2011 Cadillac. Daniel had been on the way to pick up his wife from her birthday celebration. Ironically, Daniel didn't want his wife Natalie to drive after she had been drinking, according to his sister Kelly Vazquez.
