The character Pete is actually the son of mob boss Genetti from the short film, "Family Virtues."
Karina's hotel room is room number 469, this is the name of director Joseph Payson's personal production studio, "469 Productions."
During the flashback, Karina turns on the television and flips through channels before the news broadcast. On the other channels she sees another short film, "Afraid of the Dark," a music video for Doug Stille from a talk show short "Artlando Tonight" (Doug Stille also being the production coordinator for Identity), and an animation of a devil.
Production designer Austin Piedra quickly made the Devil animation on the TV a few minutes before the shoot. It was made as a lighthearted jab and reference to rival short film being shot at the same time, "The Devil's Doorbell." The Devil proclaims, "It's my doorbell!" while walking toward the film's logo. The Devil was voiced by Austin Piedra himself (uncredited).
