The Year in Pictures

Lin Tianjiao (Shutong Guo) is the top girl in her school. During one of her tests, she resorted to copying from notes, and is spotted by Gao Xiang (Jingting Bai), who is considered a wayward student. When the note was discovered by the teacher, Gao Xiang chooses to claim responsibility for trying to cheat. Lin Tianjiao feels apologetic towards Gao Xiang, and begins their friendship. Meanwhile, Lin Tianjiao's good friend, Lu Tiantian (Herun Wang) is courting Ou Xiaoyang (Guansen Ding). However, due to his poor academic standing, Lin Tianjiao ignores him completely. Classmate Huang Tao (Hongyi Li) is secretly in love with Lin Tianjiao, but is too shy to express it. As a result, he and his best buddy, Li Tao (Wenlong Zhao) are at loggerheads with Gao Xiang. The relationship between Lin Tianjiao and Gao Xiang develops, as she begins to understand Gao Xiang better. Knowing that she likes astronomy, Gao Xiang buys tickets for an Astronomy Exhibition and dates Lin Tianjiao. Lin Tianjiao's mother insists that Lin Tianjiao focuses on her school work, and does not allow her any time off, any allowance for friendship. As a result, Gao Xiang never gets to go on the date with Lin Tianjiao. Meanwhile, as an act of love for Lin Tianjiao, Gao Xiang steals into the Astronomy Exhibition at night to take photographs of the place. He is arrested and forced to quit school. Before he leaves, he and his band of friends from the local auto-shop steal into the school to paint astronomical images on to the walls and ceiling of the classroom that Gao Xiang and Lin Tianjiao studied in. At the award of the best student award to Lin Tianjiao, Huang Tao tells her that Gao Xiang is leaving town. Lin Tianjiao uses the opportunity of the award speech to tell of her selfishness as she sought the award. From ignoring the feelings of Lu Tiantian (and her relationship with Ou Xiaoyang) and her brother, Lin Ziao; as well as her good friend, Gao Xiang. She then declines the award, and leaves the auditorium to rush to the train station to bid farewell to Gao Xiang. Unfortunately, she misses Gao Xiang. She (plus her brother, Lu Tiantian and Ou Xiaoyang) run into Gao Xiang's friends from the auto-ship, and hitch a ride to the local radio station, where Lin Tianjiao uses the programming to say farewell to Gao Xiang (singing The Beatles ' song "Hey Jude"). After a few years, Lin Tianjiao is a famous astronomer. She gave up on her mother's plan for her to study finance in Tsinghua University, but decided to follow her own dreams of doing astronomy. She plans a trip to Africa, hoping to meet Gao Xiang in Africa. Meanwhile, the rest of the group meet at Huang Tao's wedding, with Li Tao as his best man. Lu Tiantian and Ou Xiaoyang are still courting, and Ou Xiaoyang is intending to propose to her.

Very beautiful and nostalgic Chinese romance film of days long past

The only reason this movie gets 8 out of 10 from me is that, in the end, you just need more. The story had a feel of a Japanese manga high school movie with a touch of those back to the old good days movies: a girl who is the best student of her class and the only thing she does and cares about is studying and breaking records, gets involved with the worst student of the class. At first, she can&#39;t stand him. But eventually she gets to know him and they become closer. Unlike other young love Chinese movies I have watched that were like bad teen TV movies, this one was really good. The story is touching and it focuses less on developing a cliché love story and more on having the audience get to know the characters. Truelly, the only thing that this film got wrong was the ending. Even though everyone&#39;s&#39; story was concluded, the main one was left open wide, and you just need a good conclusion on the love story.

Once again, I am struck and awed at how different Chinese nostalgia films of your younger and more innocent years are from Western and Hollywood movies. I think Chinese films are more raw and honest, in certain ways, than American films, in this matter, more clean and in some ways less complicated, focusing on the little things which make each and every one of us human more than the somewhat superficial elements some Western movies frequently like to employ. The Chinese title for this film is Shui de chun tian bu mi mang, which roughly translates to, &quot;Whose years of youth are not dazed?&quot; The protagonist in this movie is a girl named Lin Tianjiao preparing for a major high school exam which determines whether or not she will be able to go to the university of her dreams, working and studying hard late into the night every single day to become No.1 in her class and earn top grades. However, her life is complicated when her paths cross with a new classmate, Gao Xiang, who is much more rebellious and independent and far less studious than she. He believes that you should not behave and act according to the judgment and expectations of others or the world, but walk your own path in life while chasing your dreams first and foremost. Under her strict mother, Tianjiao for her part chose to put aside her own love for astronomy in order to focus on academic matters above all else. While the two characters have a difficult and tense relationship at first, as they begin to interact more, they begin to see different sides to each other, and Tianjiao slowly softens to Gao Xiang, whom she begins to regard as not only a classmate, but as a confidant and a dear friend. When she learns Gao Xiang, having quit school, is going to leave with his grandfather, and having not even said a final goodbye to him, Tianjiao is forced to make the ultimate decision of her own life, one which inevitably reshapes her entire future. A deeply powerful and re-affirming film to the strength of the human spirit, the power of young love, the complexities of growing up and finding yourself, and how following your heart can sometimes be just as important as following your duties.

Now domestic youth movies are routinized and modeled, without any real feelings at all. But in this film, the taste is light, there are not too many vulgar plots, high marks.

It is a love story between a top student ,Lin tianjiao and a study slacker,Gao Xiang.Lin tianjiao is a model student ,she gets A grade in all subjects. However ,due to the fact that she is pressured by her mother,she lost her passion of astronomy. The twist begins when Lin tianjiao meets Gao xiang.Gao xiang inspires Lin tianjiao to chase her dream.At last ,Lin tianjiao becomes a famous astronomer.
It is a thought provoking movie.Everybody is equal.Whatever you are clever or stupid ,rich or poor ,you also have the chance to live for yourself ,chase for your dream .
Bai jingting played as Gao xiang in this movie.His performance is quite well and contagious.The chemistry between Gao xiang and Lin tianjiao is slight but realistic,both of the acting of two young actor/actress are superb.Bai jingting presents all sides of his character&#39;s complexity.
Finally ,I recommend this movie to anyone who is interested in teen movie.You must find this movie frensh and eye catching.

What a movie the leads were incredible together loved their chemistry. It was a really sweet story about young love . i wasx really touched by this story. A excellent movie give it a watch .
