First role in 17 years for Sondra Locke and only her third role since retiring from acting in 1985. Because of Locke's age and infirmity, concern arose whether it was ethical to allow her to play this part. There was some question as to whether she would even get insurance for the film. Her mutton dressed as lamb look was reminiscent of Mae West in Sextette (1977).
Lesley Ann Warren originally was intended to star as Helen but was replaced by the older Sondra Locke. Both stars are listed as executive producers on the film.
