Benanti stated in a Facebook Live interview that the ice cream that Georg brings Amalia is actually soy ice cream. That's why when Benanti drops a spoonful on her pajamas in the middle of the scene it doesn't leave a stain. This was chosen because it doesn't melt as easily under the hot lights, and it doesn't coat singers' throats like milk-based products.

The Hungarian play on which "She Loves Me" is based also served as the source material for the Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan film "You've Got Mail" (1989), as well as the earlier films "The Shop Around the Corner" (1940) starring James Stewart and Margaret Sullavan, and "In the Good Old Summertime" (1949), starring Van Johnson and Judy Garland.
This revival made history as being the first musical to be livestreamed across the world while the show was actually running.
This 2016 production marks the third full Broadway production of this musical. The original production was in 1963 and there was a revival in 1993.
