Marusya Burova (Antonina Divina), a young girl from a northern Russian town, clever and beautiful car racer, is going through hard times.
Marusya has just buried her mother, who raised her all alone. Her mother's brother, uncle Vitya (Viktor Saraykin), persuades her to move in with him to Moscow. Among her mothers papers Marusya finds unsent letters to her only love, Marusyas father. Marusya decides to find her father.
Three candidates fit the romantic descriptions from the old letters - "the three musketeers" (Aleksey Zubkov), (Roman Indyk), (Anatoliy Gushchin) friends from their youth, who are now bind together with tough business relationship.
Continuing the search, Marusya gets in the center of a turbid intrigue that could destroy the Musketeerss old friendship and, perhaps, seriously threatens the life of one of them.
