In July 1984 a man out walking his dog found plastic bags in bushes at the motorway Essingeleden. In the bags were body parts of a prostitute drug addict, the 27-year-old Catrine da Costa.
The criminal pathologist and the general practitioner mentioned in the film as being the perpetrators are Teet Härm and Thomas Allgén. The two were convicted at the District Court of Stockholm, March 8, 1988, for the murder of Catrine da Costa.
Swedish author Stieg Larsson did get inspiration from this case when he wrote The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
