Edwina decides to have her kitchen redone in "White Box," a 2004 episode. It's called White Box because her rather odd decorator, Bettina, insists the kitchen be a "white box" before she can begin work. She's hauled off in a straitjacket by her gay ex-husband.
Patsy falls ill and enters the hospital. Halfway through, she leaves with her IV pole.
Edina can't remember where she saw all the things she wanted for a kitchen, so she undergoes past life regression with a channeler (Laurie Metcalf). Instead, Patsy has a regression back to the big bang.
Saffy has gone to Africa to be married. When she arrives home, she's furious with her mother for trying to redo the kitchen and eventually throws her and Patsy out on the street.
In other words, it's all business as usual for these two crazies, with Edina guiding her mother to the DYI, Do Yourself In, the euthanasia channel, and Patsy's IV dripping in restaurants.
Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley are brilliant as the two leads, and surrounded by wonderful support - Jane Horrocks, June Whitfield, Julia Sawalha, and assorted guest stars.
This is a hilarious episode with Edina and Patsy taking cabs to get them across the street, swilling champagne, and being their usual careless selves. If you're an Ab Fab fan, don't miss it.
