The show really doesn't find its pace until about the 3rd episode and improves from there. It feels as if they are trying different approaches to see what sticks and works. Unlike many other build shows, this show leaves out the drama of the build, for instance issues that arise or deadlines almost missed. This is a usual tactic used by "build" shows and it's actually quite nice to leave it out as we all know much of it is staged. However a little more detail on the build would be nice. Another thing they could improve on is showing the super fan using the prop more extensively. Overall good premise and it has a lot of potential but needs more polish. Perfect for a campy time waster type show.

I was genuinely excited to see a show about fan builds...but oh my goodness...
The "fans" are either the WORST paid actors they were able to scrape together or they are so poorly coached on how to act excited and surprised that they seem like the worst paid actors ever. Cringy is the only word I can use that accurately describes this show. Many of the objects being built are very well made and creative (Toothless couch was super cool indeed) but some look like a kids project and not at all built by pros.
Aside from the bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad acting and semi shoddy creations, I felt like maybe I could skip all the drama and just jump ahead to the reveal to see what the finished product looked like, but it seriously wasn't worth even taking the time to do it. I've seen better fan builds on Pinterest.

The only two user reviews on here are overly harsh. Though they do have one thing correct. Most of the fans don't seem surprised at all. But the Spawn reveal shows that some of them were genuinely surprised and moved. The builds range from excellent to amazing! Several of them I found myself wanting as well. Tho personally the Wizard of Oz build wasn't as impressive as the others. But it was still cool. I love the campy intros, which remind me of another underrated show I enjoy thoroughly.... Hollywood Weapons! I love the builds even when I don't know much about the sources...like Sharknado. And the crew and cast are amusing to watch. Would love to be on Superman Builds myself!!!
