In the second scene in the pub garden, in regards to chatting up a girl in a group Steve tells Robin; "You have to separate her, like a cheetah on the hunt". Later during the party scene Robin does just that and separates Emily from Steve's group, giving him the chance to chat her up.
Polar was written in about a month, then parts were changed or added during shooting. From initial writing to finishing the core shoot was only a couple of months in late 2016. Then re-shoots of the first and final scenes occurred and finally the film was finished in late 2018 with final tweaks in 2019.
Polar was literally shot with no budget at all, most of the money that was spent was spent on beer which the director drank.
