In general acting is ok.
I seen lot worse.
same with direction and script.
sure, it can have been better wt time and money but this movie is just a past time popcorn one, not a deep representation of a real situation .
also at this time of review, there is not a bunch of fake ones to try to boost it so kudo to producers and crew .
I can see the 2 main actresses progress easily to more work and recognition.
Is this movie flawless? Clearly not. But what it lacks in maybe say acting or production it makes up for with some wacky and interesting ideas. I would say the mood here is rental store trash without a lot of sexual exploitation.

I do feel there is a good movie here - hidden somewhere. The question is was the script already flawed to a degree that it couldn't be helped or did that come later, while making the movie? Whatever the case, the cliches are big in this one. Many things get mentioned and than quite forgotten.
Character behave so badly, it'll be hard to really keep any connection to them. It's a small budget movie, but there could have been more. At least that's what I feel and I'm sure I am not alone with that feeling. Probably not worth your time, unless you like the actors or the general theme and overlook the myriad of flaws

There is actually nothing positive on this movie. Acting is like from very amateur high school theater group. There are obviously no skills in filmmaking behind at all. Script is dull and dialogs are awkward. It is the type of movie where the cinema audience colectively laugh to the sillines of what they see.
Target for 18-22 age group and if you not, suggest not to waste tiMe. Really boring for story line.
"Riot GIrls" is a fun little addition to the "end of the world" genre. Presented as a literal comic book, we're introduced to a world where a virus killed off all the adults and left only kids. The kids split up into two sections, divided by a bridge -- the "West Side", where all the cool kids live, and the "East Side." The "West Side" is run by the Titans, a bunch of football players jocks who have imposed a rule of law over everyone in the West. The "East Side" is seemingly just a bunch of misfits. We're introduced to one group of misfits and their leader, Jack, who "steals to stay alive" according to the comic. After stealing stuff from the West Side guys, Jack is captured by them and taken into the West Side. His sister Nat, her friend Scratch, and Sony -- a guy from the West Side that Jack saved and brought back -- go on a quest to save Jack.
The film moves along briskly and is pretty entertaining. The two female leads -- Madison Iseman and Paloma Kwiatkowsi -- really shine and have a nice chemistry that holds the film together. Of course, as with so many of these type of films, despite the fact that these girls are on their own with no money, they sport detailed and very fine "goth style" eye makeup and a hairstyle that must take a stylist an hour a day to keep up with (I often wonder by no director has ever seen someone in their "end of the world" film sit in hair and makeup for over an hour to get their style done ever said, "You know, someone in this situation wouldn't be able to keep up the grooming on a blow-dried mohawk with a side razor cut, or expansive goth style eye makeup.").
The down side is that there's not really a lot going on. It's not exactly slow or boring, but if you're expecting an action packed film you're probably going to be disappointed. But if you're in the mood for something a little bit smarter than the average "teenagers left alone" movie, worth checking out. I enjoyed it.

I liked this movie, great story line and effects,if the brother was not in the film and the 2 girls were the leaders then i would have liked it more. i would have liked to see more about what killed the adults

Pretty good for a low budget "Daybreak" esque movie shot in Canada. The plot avoids falling into tropes, and we even get great queer representation. I am 95% certain Scratch is trans masculine, seeing that he has a tattoo on his hand that reads "FTM" Wish the movie cleared that up in the slightest, seeing that the character isn't even referred to using pronouns in the whole film unless you count one scene when Scratch was being threatened and was called a "little girl" which could easily be interpreted as your average misgendering moment.
Some aspects are confusing, but I was delighted to see someone like me on screen on a whim like that! Great movie on a low budget.

I have seen worse than this movie. It is not bad for a low-budget movie, although they could have done more of it. The acting performances are okay, I actually think Munro Chambers delivered pretty good (whenever he gives a speech he slightly reminds me of Ivar from "Vikings"). It has some serious stereotypes, but I guess those were a necessity for the storyline (?). Overall an enjoyable low-budget movie.

Ridiculous and a complete waste of money and resources. They need to stop.... think .... and stop making garbage like this horrible piece of cinematic drivel. By not watching or supporting trash B budget movies mabey they could do some actual good in this world and put the money towards helping less fortunate people on the planet and forget about producing really bad movies.

All you need is a movie camera, and some kids. Tell the kids to say and do whatever they think would make sense in a dystopian fantasy. Film them. There! Now you've made a movie!

I just got around to renting this today on iTunes because it was cheap and I've been wanting to see it. I really loved it! I thought it was shot really well and although an indie movie you could tell they had a good budget and the cast was really good as well. I def would watch again.

Maybe it's because I was a teenager in 1995 when the film is set, but I could really identify with the main characters, and apart from it taking place during an apocalypse, it really reminded me of my high school experience. It did a fabulous job of mixing the comedy and drama, and it was very entertaining.
I do not understand why it has such a low rating here. Good story, well acted, well told.
