Popeye The Slayer Man: "Popeye the Slayer Man, a new horror feature exploring an alternate backstory for the legendary sailor, will be coming early 2025. The first trailer, stills, and teaser art have been released.
The film concerns a group of friends who sneak into an abandoned spinach canning factory to film a documentary on the legend of the “Sailor Man,” who is said to haunt the factory and local docks.
“We can’t wait for audiences to get a load of this gory and scary version of Popeye,” says producer Jeff Miller. “We went old-school and focused on using real practical effects, and not relying on CG for the gore. We’re talking with very enthusiastic and interested buyers now.”
Popeye the Slayer Man stars Sean Michael Conway, Elena Juliano, Mabel Thomas, Marie-Louise Boisnier, Jeff Thomas, and Steven McCormack, along with “scream queens” Angela Relucio and Sarah Nicklin. Jason Stephens plays the title role.

Warning: contains spoilers for Batman #132!After months of waiting, Tim Drake's Robin and his boyfriend Bernard Dowd have just shared their first on-panel, in-continuity kiss. This historic moment isn't as dramatic as fans may have expected, but that lack of drama makes the kiss all the more special - not least because it happens in the pages of DC's flagship comic.
Tim Drake and his boyfriend Bernard Dowd kiss on-panel for the first time in 'The Toybox' from Batman #132 by Chip Zdarsky, Miguel Mendonça, Roman Stevens, and Clayton Cowles. In the back-up story, Robin is preparing to enter the multiverse in search of Batman (whose alternate-dimension travels readers can follow in the title's main story). Before leaving on this dangerous mission, Tim visits his boyfriend, Bernard, who doesn't know about Tim's double life as Robin.

Possessed of an interesting title – why is it called “The Toybox” if it’s about a family taking a ride in an Rv which breaks down in the desert? – and a cast of a much higher calibre than the average indie horror movie – Denise Richards and Mischa Barton are two of the stars – I was looking forward to watching this.
Without being too critical, it’s never a good sign when you can predict how the first scene in a movie will play out. There’s a dirty, old-looking Rv parked on a street, and a kid on his bicycle. The Rv’s door swings open. My wife immediately chimes in with “that kid’s getting sucked into that Rv and the door will slam shut”. I guessed “blood splatter on the windows, as seen from the outside”. We were both right!
But, originality is sometimes overrated,...

Through five Death Wish movies spanning 20 years, Charles Bronson delivered a unique brand of justice to violent criminals who crossed (and sometimes ended) the paths of his family and friends. Although the iconic actor passed away back in 2003, Bronson's memory lives on in the new film Death Kiss, starring Robert Kovacs as a man who could be Paul Kersey's doppelgänger. With Death Kiss coming out on digital and VOD platforms on October 2nd from Uncork'd Entertainment, we've been provided with an exclusive clip from the film to share with Daily Dead readers!

The 47-year-old actress and new Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and the actor tied the knot earlier this month at a beach-side ceremony in Malibu earlier this month. News at the premiere of her horror film The Toybox, where she and Phypers made their red carpet debut as a married couple. "Mindy Weiss got it done for us." Generally speaking, the words "Mischa Barton horror movie" send me running the other way but for whatever reason, I clicked play on the trailer for Tom Nagel's The Toybox and I must admit, I may have judged Barton too soon.
The movie follows an estranged family who takes a family trip to the desert in their Rv. It's supposed to be a bonding trip to get everyone back into talking terms but when they find themselves stranded in the desert, they "soon learn their Rv holds terrible, haunting secrets."
In addition to Barton, the movie also stars Jeff Denton and a nearly unrecognizable Denise Richards.
