In a Sicilian town signed by countless problems provoked by a rampant dishonesty, the inhabitants elect a major which promises order and legality. But the truth is that the town (and Italy) is corrupted and dishonest beyond redemption.

Pietrammare, a fictitious village in Sicily, cries to change with the election of an honest mayor. After implanting a strict legal system, the new first citizen tackles the want to return to old rules by inhabitants and his relatives, Salvo and Valentino.—Francesco Capussela
