The series features dramatization of several real life people who were highly relevant in Taiwan's cultural scene during the 1920's and 1930's as characters, including the narrator, painter Guo Xuehu (Kuo Hsue-hu), doctor and activist Chiang Wei-shui and artists like Chen Zhiqi, Tan Teng-pho, Li Shiqiao (Lee Shih-Chiao), Lin Yushan, Cai Xuexi (Xuexi Huan-yin), Liao Chi-chun, Yen Shui-long, Yang San-lang (Yan Sabido), Ishikawa Kin'ichiro, Gohara Koto and Lin O-khim, amongst others.
