Umm yeah no. Girl is so immature to me. Shouting at the top of the world to anyone who would listen about her forever till the day I die looooooove for her teacher . All this movie highlighted is that it's plain weird for someone way older to go out with someone who is not yet an adult . Especially a person who has authority over the youngin. He didn't come off as paedo but same difference it's not right !!!! It started off well though and they definitely had amazing chemistry which is why I gave it 5 stars instead of 1 . Nevertheless you teens and Paedo teachers don't do this, it's so wrong!!!
I triedddd so hard to enjoy it but i cant wrap my head around it's almost paedophiliac theme hahaha. Sorry. Thinking about it just makes me cringe but i pulled through because Toma never looked so good!
Honestly though how would you even fall for someone you barely ever spoken with? I would never risk life on such a thing. smh

As soon as I saw the poster, I had a pretty good idea what kind of film this was, but I was hoping I could be wrong, especially since this film was fairly new. But nope, it was what I thought it was, another sick and unrealistic film that romanticizes teacher-student relationships.
But before I delve into that taboo, I want to point out just how hypocritical this film really is. The main female lead is supposed to be this "shy, obedient" type, but somehow wears skirts that are even shorter than her slutty friend's and isn't uncomfortable wearing shorts that are barely visible? Her look also suggests she wears make up all the time, possibly with the help of special contact lens. That's not what shy Asians do, especially in high school.
And her parents acting the way they did when they heard about the scandal?! I'm sorry, but the whole east Asia did not just turn into liberal America overnight.
And now the serious stuff. Even though east Asians are more liberal these days, I don't think we'll ever reach the western standards. That's why we usually look WAY younger than our western peers, and we also rarely get educated about sex at home, which is why Asian girls are more vulnerable to sexual abuse in high school, especially from their superiors.
We're brought up being told teachers are people we should look up to and trust, so when a teacher sexually harasses you, you would chalk it up to it being an "accident". If something even more serious happens, some might be too afraid to report it for fear of not being believed or retribution through bad grades.
Look no further than the "Lin Yi-han incident" in 2017 and read her novel. I shutter to think how many girls suffered the same fate as her.
Yes, these days, people with age differences as big as 30 years can fall in love and even marry, but you don't try this out on underage children. Anyone who doubts that underage people aren't capable of making serious decisions should read a psychology book. Teenagers may look like an adult, but mentally they just aren't.
And if someone can't even hold their pants 2~3 years for someone, is that really true love? Also, what happens when the next young thing shows up? What makes you think he won't fall for her too?
All in all, this film was so unrealistic it must be adapted from a manga. The female lead's fake shyness also seems straight out of a porn, I wonder if that's the producing company's way to draw audience?

This movie is all about Ikuta Toma's incredible acting. He even manage to portray such a controversial character and make it somehow worth it! That's surely something right!
There are lots of unnecessary scenes with the teens which were undeniably annoying and very poorly portrayed. But the main lead actor, Ikuta toma, nailed it. There were things in between lines. Like Mr. Ito's facial expression. In one time, he was lying but there was deep sadness in his face. Also, he did something which he normally won't do. As for relationship, he maintains a wall where suitors never got a space to enter yet that wall never really existed for Shimada! It was his acting that make it all sense. Even the guy friend of Shimada sensed that the love was mutual in their case. Here, Mr. Ito was workaholic, non-sociable and had some sort of complex in terms of relationship. But his heart melted by Shimada's innocence and he was grateful towards her, also apologetic for not being able to accept her or hurting her. That's why, that controversial relationship never felt wrong! And I'm not exaggerating anything. Mr Ito expressed everything in this tiny movie with his so little screen time and few dialogues! What I'm saying is I am totally knocked down by Ikuta Toma's acting. But the rest is pretty much slow and boring.

I like the genre usually but this one is just 100% predictable from the start and there aren't even any interesting side plots or characters to ease the boredom of watching this boring chick shyly swoon over her equally boring teacher for two hours.

This movie is so heart melted. The pure love between a student and a teacher, the age gap I think is still normal because the teacher is a young adult. Toma Ikuta as the teacher really great acting in this movie. The chemistry is so strong between him and Suzu the student that could make you cry and felt the love. I recommend this movie.. Watched it thrice already..
