Exclusive: Norman Reedus is doubling down at AMC.
Less than a week after it was announced that The Walking Dead star would be fronting his own spinoff of the cabler’s zombie apocalypse series with Melissa McBride, Reedus has now signed a first look development deal with AMC Studios.
Set to run for two years, the agreement with the AMC Network’s unit comes as Reedus has formed his own bigbaldhead production shingle.
Partnering with Brillstein Entertainment’s JoAnne Colonna and former AMC Scripted Programming VP Amanda Verdon to run bigbaldhead, Reedus has already lined up an adaptation of Aftershock Comics’ Undone By Blood, in which he will likely star, as well as EP.. Taking a new spin on the Western genre, the Undone By Blood TV series will have writers Zac Thompson and Lonnie Nadler as Co-EPs and Aftershock’s Jon and Lee Kramer as EPs, along with Verdon and Colonna.

Shaquille “Shaq” O’Neal wants to fight Johnny Knoxville. The NBA veteran expressed interest in hopping into the ring together with the famous stunt performer while appearing on a podcast run by Knoxville’s colleague, Steve-o, called Steve-o’s Wild Ride! When Steve-o took a liking to the idea, the boxer mentioned it would make an interesting segment for the upcoming Jackass 4.
“I want to box Johnny Knoxville, because I remember when he boxed Butterbean,” Shaq told Steve-o, referring to a scene in the original Jackass film where Knoxville challenged professional boxer Eric Esch to a fight inside a department store, and got K.O.’d almost immediately.
Apparently, the former NBA star had expressed interest in fighting Knoxville before, but said that, for some reason or other, the daredevil had never taken him up on the offer. Intrigued by the thought of seeing his friend get his lights punched out a second time,...

After more than a decade in the spotlight, two-time Golden Globe nominee Alison Brie is starting to spread her wings beyond just acting. Last year, she directed her first episode of her Netflix hit “Glow,” and 2020 will again bring her behind the camera for another joint from the streaming giant: as screenwriter on Jeff Baena’s latest, “Horse Girl.” Brie also stars in the Sundance premiere, which she wrote alongside her frequent collaborator, who has previously directed her in other Sundance offerings like “Joshy” and “The Little Hours.”
The film is the latest from Baena, who has long enjoyed toying with tropes and turning them into unexpected character studies. “Horse Girl” appears to be no different, following Brie as the eponymous equine-obsessed gal as she embarks on a life-changing journey. But don’t expect the film to offer up the usual “weird gal comes of age kind of late but...

"Going wheel to wheel is not smart for someone in your condition." Forrest Films has debuted an official trailer for an indie injured war veteran meets racing sports drama titled Bennett's War, the latest from filmmaker Alex Ranarivelo. The film is about a young soldier in the Army Motorcycle Unit named Marshall Bennett, who is injured by an Ied while serving in combat. He returns home and makes a remarkable comeback from a broken back and leg to be a champion motorcross racer. Michael Roark stars as Bennett, with a cast including country star Trace Adkins, plus Ali Afshar, Allison Paige, Hunter Clowdus, Brando Eaton, Tony Panterra, Michael King, & Taylor Kalupa. This looks exactly as cheesy and kitschy and uber heroic as described, but maybe that's what works for this. If not for the wonders of technology — and world’s most popular ride-sharing app in particular — Vic and Stu never would have met. Vic (Dave Bautista) is an enormous bull-in-a-china-shop-style cop recovering from eye surgery who can’t see well enough to drive (or shoot) on the night of his big bust. Stu (Kumail Nanjiani) is a touchy, easily disconcerted Uber driver who can’t afford to get another one-star review. And “Stuber” is the wildly irreverent, crash-test action-comedy that throws these two polar opposites together for a night of shootouts, stakeouts, and bust-out big laughs, as Vic commandeers Stu’s puny electric car, simultaneously deputizing and endangering its terrified driver, who hates it when you call him “Stuber.”
