Director Sheldon Renan is the focus of this twenty-minute interview where he discusses his work on the controversial 1981 documentary THE KILLING OF America. Renan starts off talking about how he got into the production and how the plan was to make a better and more well-made version of something like FACES OF DEATH. From here he tackles a wide range of subjects including how all the material was gathered, what the producers wanted for the film and of course the way all the footage should be shown. Fans of THE KILLING OF America will certainly enjoy this interview since you get a good idea of the thought that went into the film. Obviously this wasn't meant to be some sort of cheap exploitation movie as the filmmakers certainly had an idea about the real threat of violence in America.
