In Inner Mongolia grasslands, Yuan Hao (Hu Ge), a 33-year old director of a travel agency in Shanghai, crashes into the car of Mao Xiao Chun (Wang Xiao Chen), a feisty but normally kind-hearted ophthalmologist who had just discovered her boyfriend's infidelity. Shan Shan (Xu Bai Hui), Yuan Hao's fiancee who went to the US ten years ago to study and has been working there to build a comfortable life, comes home to get married. Thus starts Yuan Hao's journey in relationships that would make him wonder whether there is something wrong with his ability to love.
This drama is engaging, though at times plagued by a flaw of many Chinese dramas - too many side stories that do not advance the main love story. The lead characters are alluring but the loud-mouthed unappealing love interests of Yuan Hao's best friends greatly diminished my enjoyment of this show. Without these extraneous side stories, the drama could have been trimmed down to more palatable fewer episodes.
Good thing the ending is sweet, satisfying and made this drama worth my time.
