After receiving news on her brother, a woman and her boyfriend head out to a special section of the local woods said to be haunted by both a Satanic cult and a vicious serial killer, but when they discover the killer clown has been resurrected and is loose in the woods must stop his rampage.
Overall, this is a pretty enjoyable addition to the franchise. One of the finer aspects here is the way this one tries to operate as a different entity while still trying to feel like a genuine franchise entry. The initial setup of the brother joining the strange Satanic cult and then heading out into the woods with her friend to find him only to learn that the killer clown has returned to start a new killing spree is an intriguing setup at the heart of the film. As the first half here deals with the search through the woods for the missing brother that uncovers the evidence of the cult's activity in the area as well as the connection to the killer's history and folklore-like status in the area that goes along with the nature of how the rest of the local police force treats the subject which is enough to provide a fine starting point. As this setup comes into play quite nicely, it forms the basis for an incredibly fun and enjoyable set of cheesy stalking scenes featuring the killer clown going off on his rampage. The opening slaughter after being resurrected by the cult gives this a strong start with some great kills alongside some solid action of the resurrection ceremony alongside the occult rituals on display, which then turns into the strong enough series of solid shock ambushes. With sequences showing it coming across random strangers in the woods, the police officers sent to look for the missing brother, or anyone else that comes into the woods, this provides the kind of cheesy confrontations where it all takes place with silly, low-key kills centered stabbings, impalings, or getting their limbs hacked off. It's all done at a decent enough pace to keep things moving along and features several intriguing aspects to prepare this one for the fine finale which includes some more traditional stalking and a couple of intriguing revelations that have a lot to like here. This one does have some slight issues which are all to be expected in a genre outing like this. The majority of the flaws revolve around the obvious low budget on display, from the general guerilla filmmaking approach of being out in the woods, repeated locations being used for different sections of the woods, or the seemingly endless amount of ambushes where the killer appears to a random stranger and then knocks them off. That is a major contributing factor to the overall feeling of the low budget being utilized, much like the flimsy and oftentimes ludicrously cheesy gore gags that are decent enough at points but also look like genuine mannequin parts that are displayed for severed parts that are the most egregious examples of that and are what end up lowering this one overall.
