The Men of Outpost 31 (2016)
**** (out of 4)
Excellent 51-minute featurette that gathers up the cast of THE THING. Wilford Brimley, Richard Masur, Keith David, David Clennon, Peter Maloney, Joel Polis and Thomas G. Waites are interviewed about all aspects of the John Carpenter classic and fans will certainly love the stories that are told. We pretty much get everything from how they were hired to the shooting to the release of the film and how it didn't help anyone's career. We then get to hear from them about the cult status that quickly followed the movie and it eventually becoming a classic. This is certainly a great document that allows fans to get to hear from so many of the cast members and it's really something fans are going to love. There are so many great stories about the production as well as some nice stuff dealing with what it was like after the film tanked at the box office. The cast members share their thoughts on why it failed at the box office and each of their death scenes are discussed as well as the ending.
