“Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut” is coming to Nintendo Switch in August, developer InXile Entertainment announced on Tuesday.
A turn-based role-playing game set in a post-apocalyptic American Southwest, “Wasteland 2” has over 80 hours of content. The director’s cut is an enhanced version of the original game and includes a number of fresh additions and improvements. Players can give their characters new perks and quirks, special personality traits that bestow unique bonuses or drawbacks. Precision strikes add a new tactical layer to the game’s combat. Players can cripple enemies by shooting them in the leg or knock them senseless with a blow to the head, for example. InXile has also added over 8,000 lines of new voice-over dialogue for characters and companions.
“Wasteland 2” is the sequel to Interplay’s 1988 role-playing game “Wasteland.” The original is notable for being the first-ever post-apocalyptic computer RPG. Almost a decade later, Interplay took its setting...

In light of Justice League and the whole hullabaloo surrounding ‘stache-gate,’ Henry Cavill would be forgiven for wanting some time away from the DC Extended Universe. A rumored cameo in Shazam! notwithstanding, the actor currently has no active Dceu projects on his slate – that we know of, mind you – which raises some questions about Man of Steel 2.
Indeed, when he was asked straight-up about Superman’s next solo movie during the press tour for Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Henry Cavill played coy, telling Fandango (h/t ComicBook.com) that we should expect a new standalone film for the Last Son of Krypton to land “somewhere between 2019 and 2045.”
So don’t hold your breath for the actor’s next Dceu appearance. Then again, there’s a very good chance that Henry Cavill is keeping mum in accordance with his Nda with Warner Bros.

Paramount Pictures released a new clip and featurette for director Christopher McQuarrie's Mission: Impossible - Fallout. The clip features Tom Cruise being chased down on a motorcycle by a bunch of cops in Paris. We've also got a new behind-the-scenes featurette that was released that focuses on Ethan Hunt and his core team which includes Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames. It also offers some insight on the new characters that are played by Henry Cavill and Rebecca Ferguson.
I've liked everything that I've seen from this movie so far. It looks like it's going to be a ton of fun and might end up being one of the best films in the franchise. I'm excited about seeing how the story of the film plays out.

If setting the ultimate ticket booth touchstone is any indication, 2018 is indeed the year of the blockbuster. A little under two weeks ago, the domestic box office crossed the $6 billion threshold, making June 27th the earliest it’s ever reached that total.
What with Black Panther becoming the first African-American film to earn more than $1 billion, Avengers: Infinity War only the fourth film to ever conquer the elusive $2 billion plateau, and Incredibles 2 opening to an unprecedented $182 million – the largest debut for an animated feature of all-time, mind you – all before we reached the halfway point, the new benchmark isn’t all that surprising.
Nonetheless, should 2018 continue at this torrid pace – we’re tracking 9.4% higher than at this time last year – the total box office gross should, once again, be on the upswing, seeing as 2017 failed to keep the forward momentum going.

Imagine Vanessa Kirby's surprise when, in the spring of 2017, she was romantically linked to Tom Cruise, her co-star in Mission: Impossible — Fallout (in theaters July 27). Kirby had been in a relationship with actor Callum Turner for about two years, but the tabloids seemed to forget that detail after she was photographed kissing Cruise on the set of their upcoming blockbuster. "Even though the crew were there, it was all [in the tabloids] like, 'The next wife falls at his feet,'" Kirby recalls in the August issue of Marie Claire U.K. (on sale now). "The most disconcerting thing was the people I didn't think would believe it did, and they were texting my boyfriend, asking, 'Are you...

The last time we saw William “Bj” Blazkowicz, in 2014’s Wolfenstein: The New Order, he was in a pretty rough state. For this sequel, ported to Switch by Doom geniuses Panic Button, we get a prologue bringing the player up to date, and then the game kicks off from the moment of Blazkowicz’s resurrection.
Since its announcement, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus has been held up as the defining example of whether a truly Aaa, current-gen third-party game could run on Nintendo’s relatively underpowered architecture. The answer is yes, but with significant compromises.
Low PC settings is the acceptable target here; and, being generous, it gives a stylised, Dishonored-type appearance. Generally, the right cutbacks have been made to achieve a mostly solid 30 Fps. Some textures are shockingly low – check out the graffiti on the helicopter – but when it’s all in motion, it’s perfectly playable. Handheld...

A Texas judge has halved the amount of money Facebook must pay ZeniMax Media for allegedly using stolen computer code in its Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, according to Bloomberg.
ZeniMax sued Facebook in 2014 after Id Software co-founder John Carmack joined Oculus as its chief technology officer. The company claimed Carmack and Oculus founder Palmer Luckey stole trade secrets and used them to create the Rift headset. It also said Facebook rushed through its acquisition process and didn’t properly vet Oculus and its executives.

Comedians Casper Kelly and Nick Gibbons have a way of twisting popular culture into a nightmare version of itself for the express purpose of making you laugh uncomfortably. It’s been four years since the duo’s “Too Many Cooks” had people convincing friends to “just watch until the end.”
Their latest, “Final Deployment 4: Queen Battle Walkthrough” does for video games what “Too Many Cooks” did for 80s sitcom nostalgia. It begins with a mundane, stereotypical frat boy streamer taking players through the final boss fight of the fictional game, “Final Deployment 4.” From there, it spins rapidly out of control for nearly twice the length of 2014’s “Too Many Cooks, ”delivering commentary dipped in existentialism.
Kelly and Gibbons are no strangers to gaming. Gibbons is a diehard PlayStation 4 fan, having just finished the new “God of War.” He cites “Uncharted” and “The Last of Us” as two of his favorite games.

Bethesda showed off a decent chunk of footage from “Fallout 76” during its E3 2018 showcase earlier this month. Just in case you missed it, however, the developer released the multiplayer announcement video shown during the event so you can rewatch it at your leisure. It’s a mixture of animated Vault-Tec PSAs intercut with actual footage from the game.
The “You Will Emerge” trailer runs down character creation with the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system and then heading out in the world to forge your own path with others or alone. The splicing of the kitschy Vault-Ten content with game footage makes for an entertaining watch, even if you caught the multiplayer reveal during E3.
The nuclear missiles available to players are shown off briefly as well, teasing untold destruction that also creates a “high-level” radiation zone teeming with difficult enemies and powerful items after the missiles are utilized.

The new space-themed minigame is called “Saliens.” Players can customize their saliens, pick a starting planet, and team up with friends to compete for galactic domination. If their group defeats the most enemies on a tile, they’ll claim it as their own. The groups with the most tiles when a planet is taken will get to plant their flag and claim it as their own. Top Twitter game-related tweets during E3 2018 included “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate,” “Kingdom Hearts III,” and “Fallout 76,” among other upcoming games.
Twitter released the stats surrounding the biggest gaming expo, which wrapped up Thursday, on their blog. The week of E3 came with a 94% increase in gaming-related tweets on the site, and almost 15 million tweets related to E3.
Other top games that had Twitter abuzz were the new trailers and gameplay glimpses for Naughty Dog’s “The Last of Us 2” and Kojima Productions’ “Death Stranding,” both revealed at Sony’s Press Conference.
Despite the popularity of those titles, PlayStation didn’t even crack the top three in terms of general topics. The most tweeted topic was Nintendo, with Xbox right after. Super Smash Bros. took the number three spot, followed by Fallout and then PlayStation at number five.

Megabytes is a opinion based review of all the hottest topics of the past week (or two). You can catch our opinion in video form on our weekly recap show as well.
This past week we got the chance to celebrate E3, the biggest event for gamers. So why not take a chance to review what we got from the show. Plenty of announcements, but the biggest aspect of E3 is the conferences. Now that we’ve had some time to let them set in, watched parts of them a few more times, and allowed the excitement to die down, how did they do?

“Gtfo,” like the great four-player co-op shooters that came before it, is a game about failure. You and three friends take the guise of desperate prisoners in an unforgiving, dystopian world, and are sent down into the gloomy depths below the earth’s crust to retrieve a series of artifacts for an unnamed client known only as The Warden. As you might expect, those depths are rife with horrifically twisted “Amnesia”-esque ghoulies, who want nothing more than to wipe your party over, and over, and over again.

“Fallout 76” is a Fallout game you can play with others. Or at least that’s how Pete Hines, senior vice president of Bethesda’s global marketing, describes the game when I ask him for a one-line breakdown.
Despite the relatively simply and completely accurate description – one that was detailed during the company’s theatrical E3 press conference – Hines believes that people still aren’t quite understanding what this latest Fallout will be.
“I think some people get it and and some absolutely do not,” he told Variety. “They think it’s straight up Pvp. They think it’s running around and shooting folk or that you can’t play by yourself, or that nukes are going off every minute or that you can grief people.
“They are judging it based on other things that say ‘online’ or ‘post apocalyptic.’”

This was amazing news for all Bethesda fans, but we also learned the game can be played solo and fully online. This will completely change the way you take on the wasteland, but will add a much-needed Co-op feature to the franchise.
You will also have the ability to launch nukes against other online players, build your own town friends, pose with your friends for pictures in game, and much more. From what we have seen from the gameplay shown, this will be a true Fallout experience with the added pleasure of online co-op.
It was also announced that a collector's edition named Power Armor Edition will be launching for $119, and will include a d=Duffel Bag, Exclusive Steelcase, Collectible Fallout figurines,...

Bethesda brought tons of “Fallout 76” gameplay footage, intercut with a series of animated, in-universe Vault-Tec videos, to E3 Sunday night. The new title is an all-online survival RPG.
“Multiplayer finally comes to the epic open-world RPGs of Bethesda Game Studios,” the developer said in a news release. “Create your character with the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system and forge your own path in a new and untamed wasteland with hundreds of locations. Whether you journey alone or with friends, a new and unique Fallout adventure awaits.”
The game takes place in the post-atomic ruins of West Virginia.
“Go it alone or with fellow survivors to unlock access to the ultimate weapon — Nuclear Missiles,” Bethesda’s post teases. “This destruction also creates a high-level zone with rare and valuable resources. Do you protect or unleash the power of the atom? The choice is yours.”

Bethesda revealed two new games at the end of their E3 2018 conference.
At the end of their conference Bethesda showcased two games that are "further out" than this year. Most of the titles shown were expected to be released this year, or early next year, but these two are expected "beyond" these titles.
The first was a title that goes by Starfield. The teaser was all that was shown, seen below, and not much else was followed up. The game is set to be the "biggest" game they have ever done, and different than anything they have done. Fans have wanted a sci-fi style game similar to their Fallout and Scrolls titles and this very well be it. The studio has been hinting at a sci-fi title for years.
The second game is The Elder Scrolls VI which is set to release after Starfield so it is still a bit ways out from release.

“Fallout 76” will be “entirely online,” Bethesda announced at their E3 presser on Sunday.
Players will be able to join friend’s parties and progress will follow them, or they can choose to go it alone and play solo.
Game Director Todd Howard explained the advantages of the latest in the “Fallout” franchise being an online RPG.
“You’ll be who you want, exploring a huge world, doing quests, experiencing a story and leveling up,” Howard said.
The upcoming game also finally has a release date of Nov. 14, 2018.
Howard jokingly called the title a “softcore survival” title, as death in the game won’t mean loss of progress. He also gave some background information on the upcoming title, explaining that vault 76 was built for America’s tercentenary. The player is one of the very few chosen to reside in the vault, and spends 25 years waiting for reclamation day — the day when...

“Fast & Furious” producer Neal Moritz and Paramount CEO Jim Gianopulos sat down at the Produced By Conference to discuss their thoughts on the industry… including why they want to give Sega’s animated hero Sonic the Hedgehog a movie.
With James Marsden and Tika Sumpter attached to star in the live-action/animated hybrid, “Sonic the Hedgehog” will be the first film made as part of the first-look deal between Paramount and Moritz’s Original Films banner, which will start next year.
The pitch to make a Sonic movie first came to Moritz several years ago during his partnership with Sony and was won over by the enthusiasm of the team that wanted to make it.
“I thirst for a project with a director that has a clear vision of what he wants to make, and I can just clear the road for him,” Moritz explained at the annual event...

When it comes to smiles, Tom Cruise’s teeth might take the cake — unless you look very closely. More than three decades in to his career, Tom is still one of the hottest actors in showbiz. He’s starring in the upcoming film Mission: Impossible — Fallout, scheduled for release on July 27, and we know his impeccable acting chops and winning good looks will make the movie a great one. No matter how phenomenal he is as an actor, we can’t help but notice that Tom’s smile consists of a rather odd middle tooth. Don’t believe us? Check out photos of Tom Cruise’s middle tooth! (Photo Credit: Getty Images) While he has amazing pearly whites, Tom’s 100-watt grin has one tooth that’s just a bit out of place. You can see from the photo that his teeth aren’t exactly symmetrical with the center of his face.

Tom Cruise made history with his latest death-defying stunt!

Watch This Insane Featurette That Focuses on Tom Cruise's Halo Jump in Mission: Impossible - Fallout
While I was at CinemaCon earlier this year, Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie shared a video featurette for Mission: Impossible - Fallout giving us a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most insane stunts that Tom Cruise has ever done in a film. A video similar to that has been released and it shows us what exactly went into pulling off the Halo jump. This means the actor would jump out of a plane at 25,000 to 35,000 feet and then pull his shute at the closest he possibly could to the ground without being killed. Oh yeah, and Henry Cavill had to do it too!
Everyone told them that pulling this off would be impossible, but apparently, Tom Cruise doesn't know the meaning of the word because he did it. Here's a description I previously wrote from what I learned about it at CinemaCon:
The three-minute scene takes place above Paris at sunset.

Tom Cruise broke his ankle while filming “Mission: Impossible – Fallout,” and the injury didn’t even occur during the most serious stunt. The 55-year-old — whose penchant for performing death-defying feats himself rather than relying on stuntmen — also performed the highly dangerous Halo Jump to once again make Ethan Hunt’s exploits feel as real as possible. Watch a behind-the-scenes look at the stunt below.
Said jumps usually take place at 25,000 feet, which is high enough to induce hypoxia and “the bends” — “You start losing your mind and you don’t realize it,” says one stunt coordinator in the video. Everyone else in in the featurette likewise plays up how dangerous the jump was, as there’s much that can go wrong and no room for error. Cruise himself doesn’t add much other than saying how excited he is for audiences to see this latest act of derring-do.
