En “Al Otro Barrio”, intentar engañar a Hacienda ha sido una opción demasiado tentadora para Andrés (Quim Gutiérrez), pero no contaba con que le pillaran. Y eso es exactamente lo que le ha ocurrido. Además de la multa millonaria que le ha caído encima, ahora debe trasladar sus oficinas al barrio de Los Caños, en las afueras más marginales de la capital, o eso le parece a él. A new NCIS: Hawai’i episode features LL Cool J in another important subplot.

LL Cool J continues to play Agent Sam Hanna within the NCIS Universe. The character first appeared in a backdoor pilot on NCIS; moving to NCIS: Los Angeles the following fall.

Sam became a free agent when NCIS: Los Angeles got canceled, and he showed up to save the day in the NCIS: Hawai’i Season 2 finale.

Much of NCIS: Hawai’i Season 3 has featured Sam helping out Jane Tennant and her team in one way or another, all while seemingly having ulterior motives for being on the island.

The downside is that more scenes with LL Cool J have taken time away from other characters. But he has also brought an additional toughness and action feel to the NCIS spin-off.

The cast of the Asacha Media-backed Spanish-Serbian thriller series Scar (Cicatriz) has taken shape.

Cameras are rolling today in Spain on the European co-production from Plano a Plano, Dopamine and Adrenalin. Milena Radulovic, Juanlu González, Luis Fernández will lead the scripted series, with Stefan Kapicic, Mladen Sovilj, Goran Susljik and Julen Serrano also attached.

Radulovic is known for Serbian-British drama series Besa and Russian thriller Superdeep, while González starred in Netflix’s Valeria and the popular Spanish TV crime series La Caza, La Otra Mirada and features including Operación Camarón.

Exclusive: Canada’s Waterside Studios is developing scripted projects with an array of North American writing and production talent.

The Corus Entertainment-owned studio is currently focusing on procedurals, half-hour comedies and young adult content after launching last year. On the back of its debut teen series Geek Girl going into production for Netflix and Corus, Head of Waterside Jeff Norton revealed a trio of titles developed with the likes of writer-producers Todd Berger and Julie Dicresce, Arnie Zipursky and Jeff Detsky.

On the procedural front is Serve & Protect, a drama series co-produced with Berger and Dicresce’s December Films, which is best known for Syfy horror comedy Reginald the Vampire. Canadian novelist and screenwriter Zoe Whittall is attached to the project, which Norton billed as having “the ensemble cast of NCIS with the quick wit of Private Eyes.”

Content group iZen has optioned Eduardo Mendoza’s acclaimed Spanish historical novel “City of Marvels” (La Ciudad de los Prodigios) and is developing it as a six-part series. No broadcaster or streaming platform has yet been attached to the project.

iZen’s Zebra Producciones was behind epic Amazon Prime Video historical series “El Cid,” with “Money Heist” star Jaime Lorente, which will return for a second season this year.

Published in 1986 and translated into 14 languages, “City of Marvels” chronicles the protagonist Onofre Bouvila’s journey from small-time hustler to one of the richest people in Spain. The multi-generational story is set against the backdrop of Barcelona’s social and cultural evolution at the turn of the 20th century, as the city shook off its medieval past and reinvented itself as a vibrant modern metropolis.

The deal was brokered by NewCo Audiovisual, the Barcelona-based iZen company formed in 2018 to produce scripted series and international co-productions.
