The director cites Mulholland Drive, Eyes Wide Shut, and Blue Is the Warmest Color as major influences for this film.
The script was radically different in its first draft - it was almost two times as long, and explored vastly differently themes. After discussing it with a trusted colleague, LaFountaine decided to completely re-write the film.
