    Referring to a Bore

This movie is not to be admired for it's artistic qualities of which it has none: a movie which does is Luis Buñuel's "Un Chien Andalou" or Stan Brakhage's "Dog Star Man". This movie is not to be admired for it's depiction of the Dead: a movie which does is Walt Disney's "Fantasia" or Elias Merhige's "Begotten". Flesh of the Void feels like a version of Terry Gilliam's "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" mixed with Oliver Stone's "Natural Born Killers" portrayed through a lens of Christophe Gans's "Silent Hill": it has nothing interesting to say. It's more boring than Andy Warhol's 8 hour-epic "Empire".

this needs to be a Behemoth video

Well made black and white blood and guts. This style of grainy film and jumpy editing with gore has lent its self to a danker feel. Why do we need to write so much for a review. Ok, i liked it, i suggest it for anyone who wants to watch a macabre film.

    What the "Hell" is this?

Found it surrounded by hype from severely depraved arthouse horror fans.

Film sucks, tries to hard on making the audience fear ungodly sights that you simple either cannot see or just don't care enough to watch.

Films over-washed in this blinding white amplified filter. So good luck figuring out what you're looking at.

It's a film that would rather be defined as an experience rather then story. The truly horrific part of this film is the length.

Dark and dismal with a wash of grotesque

Many who I say this film with were critical and did not like this piece. This is a film that is not for many, but worth it for those who can imbibe in such a genre. The scenes are vulgar and gross. The performers did horrid things. The tone is dark and dismal.

The feeling is dark and disgusting, and I feel that was exactly what the writer wanted. I was immersed in a vague but poignant world of terrible and tragic.

The work done on the actual film and cinematography were amazing. The love, dedication and blood spent on each frame is noticeable. The etched film and the subtle but noticeable degradation of the film was amazing.

I was reminded of Necromantic and Der Todasking in both cinematography as well as overall content.

A phantasmagorical journey beyond the living - a beautiful aural and visual agony - a diorama from afterlife.

Flesh of the Void offers us to "experience" our death. More precisely, the after. Like a wandering soul, the camera takes the viewer into an apocalyptic, phantasmagorical vision, yet so close to our world. I loved immersing myself in this melancholy universe, filled with bitterness and suffering, but also enjoyment (suffering = enjoyment = suffering, and so on). I remember some fascinating paintings. It's really a diorama, and navigation is done in a natural, immersive way.

From a technical point of view, the use of altered 8MM film was able to transform typical landscapes into hellish visions. I find that black and white is particularly interesting for the afterlife. You will meet original characters, you will wonder what their story can be... There are almost creatures too (sometimes we no longer know exactly what we are observing thanks to the dominant grain). Lots of possibilities for interpretation, including concerning the religious beings who wander around.

I highly recommend it, and I think it's a good gateway to discovering experimental/underground cinema.
