Except for the actors and episodic cast, the crew consisted only of 9 people working on cumulative positions. Only during Italian part of the shooting, the crew traveled more than 5000 km.
Legendary MBW E12 was broken during the whole part of the Slovak shooting. In one week break, the crew had to find the same replacement car in order to continue with the shooting. The second car broke after one week of Italian part of the shooting. It had to be pulled during the rest of the shooting. Despite this, the shooting plan was fulfilled in low budget conditions till the end.
Except from the main cast, all episodic cast were non actors. No one from the actors read the script. Some scenes were shot by hidden camera. Thanks to this, the crew managed to catch the extraordinary situations, even thought it was more difficult in the post production process.
Peter Kocan, the actor in main role speaks fluent Italian in the movie, but in reality he does not speak Italian at all. When the director brought him a book "Italian in 5 minutes", he considered it to be a joke. On the shooting he realized that he actually is supposed to speak Italian. Thanks to his remarkable memory he was able to learn the dialogues phonetically shortly before the shooting of each scene. The languages used in the movie are Italian, French, English and Slovak. The actors, non actors and episodic cast are of several different nationalities: Slovak, Italian, Marocan, South-African, Ukrainian, French and English.
